you need to explain that big box in the ground and how it got there and what it is for and such before the pipe laying. Also what is the black crate thing and where do you find one? thanks
This was one my first videos. I did the filming while my man was on the backhoe at $100 hr. The big box is a septic tank. The black box distributes the clear liquid that rises to the top. It is called a D box. You can get one at any hardware or plumbing store. I did a huge septic tank for just one person because it was cost effective. People in the country build septic tanks out of cinder blocks on the cheap. The big box cost me $1500 including deliver and dropping it in the ground. I have perfect soil for the location of the leech field.

So the title is a little misleading. It really should say leach field install in 3 hours. I never saw you place the septic tank, just drain field equipment.
Where's the tank? A 1500 gallon tank is 3 hours alone to dig & set it correctly. 50 years in the business, all types of systems. Full size excavator, 15 -20 metric tonnes... Unless your composting, you need a tank, then a "D" box (distribution box) to send the water to the leaching facility.......

That's a diversion box. The liquid from your septic tank goes to that box. Those holes with the yellow rings determine how fast the liquid drains and your drain lines are connected to those hole in the diversion box. Most require 2 - 4 lines 50 - 100 feet long for proper drainage. They are put on a bed of sand or stone. And covered with the landscaping cloth and backfilled about 6 inches above the pipes. Then top off with soil. Make sure you have a 1/4" slope away from the diversion box for every 10 feet of pipe.
...yeah, definitely want to have a gun on your hip when installing your leach field...never know who's going to sneak up on you, right? You have to give it up for these arkansas mental giants.
I hope this guy consulted with an Engineer or a Soil Scientist to determine the geology and the natural soil conditions before he started digging. In my state, you have to dig "test pits" and conduct a "perc-test" before you can install a Leaching Field or Drainage Field. Keep in mind, the wrong kind of soil conditions or geology that doesn't allow for proper leaching of the water, could cause premature failure or worse, could pose a potential environmental hazard. Especially if installed too close to the Water Table, which will cause groundwater contamination. Again, you absolutely must consult with a Licensed Septic System Designer or Professional Engineer before putting any kind of system in your yard. This kind of video really pisses me off, because it doesn't look like anybody even pulled permit for this job. Not to mention, where is the local Code Enforcement Official from the town or county where this is being done... how about a Building Inspector or Health Inspector of some kind?

1/4 inch drop per foot to keep it from being so steep the fluids run ahead of the solids.
Rule of thumb is 1/8 to 1/4 inch drop per foot for a gravity fed septic
im none the wiser after watching
