    14:27 is when the install part begins, in this install video.

    This is helpful. I had a '68 Mustang and returned the lights because it wasn't a three prong plug like these and I'm not an electrical person. Just want something I can plug right in and be done. I'll be adding these to my list for my '72 Camaro.

    I"m seriously looking into this headlight system for my 77 Thunderbird. (2 headlights, not 4) The mileage is low so I'm thinking it's the original non halogen sealed beam still there and not effective anymore. I don't think I have to worry about the bells and whistles the dapper lighting has to offer. My Thunderbird has hidden headlight doors, so I wouldn't have to really worry about halos or turn signals within.

    By any chance are you going to do an install video, showing the key on wiring you referred to along with the turn signal hookup? Great video thanks

    What is recommended for a 1978 Datsun pick up620 for decent led lights that plug in no issues. Thanks

    I just finished restoring a 1966 Thunderbird can you tell me if it would be easy to install these and the Halo

  • @selenevolmer1888
    @selenevolmer1888 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can you just switch out high beams and leave the low beam stock . How much does that cost and what happens to amps. Can you only have the halo when high beam is engaged .thanks

    Good info here! I'm assuming these are the "Clear Glass" option, instead of the "OE Glass" option which adds $100.00?
    I'm trying to find out what the OE glass 575's look like. Trying to get a little more of a stock lock, but still have the halos.
    And these are the "Classic Switchback" (+$75.00) halos right? I also see they have "HDR Switchback" for +$225.00!

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Correct, these are the clear classic switchback. I haven't seen the OE glass up close yet. I will say that I was/am very happy with the Dapper lighting stuff.

    Thank you for the review. Did you ever get the switchbacks wired up? Would you recommend using 2 relays for halos? One for the 12v for all 4 halos and another for all 4 switchbacks. Or would you use separate relays for each side for a total of 4?

  • @McC_62
    @McC_62 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you use a fuse and a relay or just the relay for the running lights? I want to do the same thing for my Nova. I’ve already got them installed and the wires ran but they keep popping the fuse no matter what fuse I use

    • @cuzz63
      @cuzz63 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      popping fuses either means the load is too much for the fuse or a direct short.

    Can a normal non mechanic connect those halos the way you guys set up easily? Everything I have found shows the standard install but not the actual connection of those halos. TY in advance

      It's very straightforward. It does require a little wiring, but it's not difficult. Thanks for watching.

    The prices are on the high side. I know, I know! This is safety! You student most likely has parents pay for his. I mean look at what a student is driving. My personal opinion is they murder the character of a classic car. I know they are great, they are on my 2017 vehicle and I love them, just not on my 67 Camaro. My wife had a 2011 RS Camaro convertible and then a 2013 RS/SS identical to the RS and both had halo lights and loved them too. ✌️😃

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Thank you for the reply and I appreciate you watching our videos. The prices are not cheap, but I don't believe they're expensive for what you're getting. The housings/projectors are made very well, and like I mentioned, they fit in the original pocket of the headlight buckets.
      I know you probably didn't mean anything by the comment about the student, but you're way wrong here. Yes, his grandfather gave him the car 3 years ago, and it looked like a calico cat, 40 different shades of primers with rear quarters welded in, but nothing was straight. This student turned every bolt, worked every body panel, over and over, for 2-1/2 years to build this car. Everything from motor and tranny, to bodywork and interior. He did about everything but pull the trigger on the paint gun (he actually did that a few times).
      He graduated high school with his AA degree (2 years college courses) already completed. He's getting his Business Management degree (4-yr) after only 18 months in college, while playing baseball. He's then enrolling in Technical college to get his Mechanic certifications to become a mechanic because that's his passion. Not all the young people out there are handed everything. But, I understand your thoughts, and I many times go there as well.

      Shop Tool Reviews Thanks for filling me in on the Young Man. I said that without thinking. I have grand children from the age of 10 to 30 and the three oldest are really shining. The oldest has three daughters and a child on the way. He helped me while growing up and we loved it. With his business and degree in farm management and mechanical back ground he works for caterpillar as the service rep that goes to the job first writes his report and then the mechanics go do the actual repairs.
      I have looked at LED’s and yours are not out of line with the others. They are a lot more expensive than the 7” halogens. I have been an electronics technician since 1969 so I understand why the expense now. I understand the amount of light that is scattered and lost as the result of the front cover of the older lights and why the reflectors used are so important. One concern I have is the heat sinks used on some LED’s. 35 watts is not much power but at 12 volts it would equate to 3 amps. I have seen a few LED’s that suffered from too much heat. How much heat dissipation do your 35 watt lights have? I am going to take a closer look at what you have to offer and you never can tell, I may just be interested.
      Thanks again for the reply and explanation. When you see this Young Man, tell him an old fool has tons of respect for his accomplishments now and in the future.
      Have a Blessed New Year.👍🇺🇸🤙😃
