Probably the best truck bed hack
It is handy. Especially with the bins. Hey, have a great day.
Thanks for sharing this...@@fredsgarage1925
My friend - I've only watched the INTRO to this video so far and can say you are a FREAKING GENIUS.
I'm 59 years old and climbing my a$$ in the bed of my truck either and was looking for something just like this.
THANK YOU
😃😃
Your welcome. It’s the little thing in life that can make a big difference. Hey have a great day.
Fantastic idea. Great alternative to lumber dividers.
Thanks, mine comes in handy, especially with the bed cover on. Hey, have a great day
fred that is a outstanding design ,thank-you
Hey I’m glad you like it. If you find bins that fit nicely please let me know where you bought them. Thanks
Thanks fred I used your idea. I used 1 1/4 inch pvc schedule 40. I have 15 dollars in it so far. I have a hybrid with a drop in bedliner. The width dimension was 54 inches. I also bought a can of behr primer and paint in black to match the bedliner cover.
Great man, it’s very handy, especially if you need to retrieve something. If you find bins that fit nice please let me know where you got them.
@@fredsgarage1925 will do thanks
I'm using a piece of shiplap, but I like this idea better. Thanks!
Thanks, it’s too bad some company doesn’t make a better version.
@@fredsgarage1925 I made your design and it works better than the shiplap. I had the tools, so it only ended up costing me a few cents over $10 for the divider and about $17 for two plastic bins that fit the back perfectly. Now our grocery pickup won't be a nightmare. Thanks again!
@AlThomas-n6o great, ya the bins are a huge help. Have a great day.
Thanks great idea!°
Glad you liked it!
Yes Fred I will make one, & get back with you, you had the great Idea , I have the sprayed in bed liner! I love the Ford 360 warning system, I love it , being 78 Years old!! Tom Wrona
Have a great holiday, I’ll talk to you soon
Love that you're being creative and practical 😊
Thanks
Great little DIY divider. Not only lighter than a 2x6, but costs less as well. (I'll save the 2x6 to put a divider up to the slots by the cab to create a pocket for folded tarp storage.)
Something that I learned at college for taking some flex out of PVC pipe is to run a length of filament tape (1" wide is fine) along the length of the pipe in a spiral. I don't know the mechanics of how it works, but it does. Also, the length will be a little less than the 54.25 if you have a bed liner. If you have a liner (either spray or drop-in), measure your own truck.
Thanks, it’s been work out great for me so far. I like your idea of placing the 2x6 up front to make a storage area. I never thought of that. Have a great day, bro
One more , A ,T fitting 2 different sizes nipples with caps on both ends, then you can reverse for 2 different heights , Tom
You have to post a photo of what it looks like when you make it.
I genuinely love this. I previously made a DIY Bed Divider with 2x6. It works amazingly, but isn't the easiest to remove when I need full bed space.
But this eliminates that issue for when I don't need definitive bed division. I went to Lowe's, bought the stuff and made it in about 10mins after getting home. Thanks for the idea and creativity!
Hey, thank you. I came up with that idea about 10 years ago when my Tacoma ( first truck ) needed a way to keep my small stuff in the bead. So PVC and 2 bins made a nice little trunk. Glad the video helped. Have a great day.
Great Job! Work on fuel funnel , for filling gas from can, Ford supply s with truck, has a clip , I put on bed hold down! You may find a better way !
Great 👍🏼 few, I’ll have to look into it, thanks. Have a great day bro
Fred .. what a great video once again.. with the totes in the back snuggled up against the tailgate and the bar , easy way to put groceries in there and not slide around Fantastic!
Thanks, all we need to do is find 2 bins that fit. Have a great day.
Great idea !!
Thanks, works out pretty good. Have a great day
As always....solid practical ideas. Thanks, Fred
Thank you, have a great day
Put in a bedrug and no more worries about the paint!
Great job, it protects your paint, and I also love that when I’m kneeling down in there doing something my knees are protected. It’s funny living in Florida the only time I wear long pants is at work. Hey, have a great day.
Nice job.thanks for
Your welcome
Thanks bro very good idea
Thank you, I made one for my last truck and I was able to keep 2 recycling bins side by side and it was very handy. Have a great day.
this is great!! i wonder how hard it would be to scuff up the pvc and spray it to color-match the truck? LOL. Could you skip the magnets and just insert it upside down to lay plywood over the wheels.
If you wipe it down with alcohol first you could paint it no problem. Turning it upside down is such a great idea, I never thought about that. It would work better then the magnets, thanks
Really love your ideas for the Maverick! This one was a great idea especially since it can be a retriever for you, too. For me, I bought the Ratcheting Cargo Bar from Harbor Freight for about $30 and it served me well
Thanks, I had one on my older tocoma and the bed was wider so 2 recycling bins would fit sis by side. I could toss everything in this bins. If you come with any ideas let me know. Have a great day.
I dont know how I stumbled across your channel, but man im glad I did! you have some great Ideas! Really appreciate you taking the time to show how you do the projects. When you mentioned in the video abou the bins being a good idea, you were definitely in my head lol. Keep up the great vids!
@@darrenb4619 thank you so much for the comment. If you happen to come across bins that will fit please comment on where you found them. Have a great day.
@fredsgarage1925 does it rattle when you drive? That was one of the reasons why I didn't use the 2x6 in the flex bed. Even the people that covered it in felt or some fabric said the same. The Harbor Freight truck bed ratchet doesn't rattle or make noise
@JRPLAWOffice it’s been on for about a week and the furniture pad keeps it nice and snug. When you make it you need to make sure that the brackets are right up to the bed, the furniture pads then add just enough tension to keep it tight when installed. When you remove it you need to raise one side fits to give it enough room to slide off. I had to pick up a new shower door Friday and the magnet held it perfectly against the inside of the wheel well with the tailgate down on my way home. Hope it helped. Take care.
Hello Fred. I appreciate your videos and the time you take explaining details that novices like myself may not know. I have the items in my amazon cart to add the 12v panel as well as the additional switch and bed lights. The bed lights seemed a little dimmer in this video. Are the back lights still working? They looked so bright in the episode when you installed them and it sold me. Do the lights still function and look similar today compared to the install date?
Yes, they are very bright and are as bright as when I installed them. It’s most likely the camera exposure. I will post a short, video to day so you can see it. I did add a small D channel across the front of the bed to relocate the 2 front lights and hide the wire. The reason was that I’m always removing the bed cover to make other videos. You should be able to see what t and n the “ shattered back glass video” but if I was not planning on removing the bedcover I would just of left the lights like in the video. Very happy with the bulbs.
Here’s the link to the short, you can see the lights today.
Are the Mavericks bed lights still bright after a year?

WOW you respond fast. Appreciate it Fred. Submitted the order and hope to work on it this weekend.@@fredsgarage1925
Well, I was going out to my truck at the same time I was ready your comment. So since it was dark I figured, why not do it now. Worked out pretty good.
Fred, Will a 90Degree elbow & a small nipple & cap on both ends work??
Ya, I bet it would work just as good. Especially if the truck has a sprayed in bedliner to help it from sliding. Let me know how you make out. Have a heyday.
Put a 1/2 steel conduit adds stiffness & weight ???
Yes, some more weight would make it better. Thanks

There is a $4.99 Net for this🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙄
Yes, but can the net grab your pale on the cab side of the bed. Well I guess it can is it’s a cast net.😀😀😀
