    Every “Oh Bob” by Abishola’s Uncle Tunde had me in stitches. So well timed.

    This show is one of the BEST comedies in years! It provides insights on a totally different culture while cleverly interweaving humor and good entertainment values. Confronting the issues of racial differences, it casually tosses them by the wayside and opts for a new perspective by presenting special relationships as they can be; with the emotion that crosses any social barrier...... love.

    This clip is kind of funny because one can actually see Abishola "rocking" in her seat as if ENJOYING Dele's dancing troupe. When she turns off the clip she resorts to that hard stance she had before, Believe that between her son and Bob some of her hard ideas regarding different things may be challenged.

    When are parents going to realize they can't put their dreams on their kids They can tell them what to do when they're in the house definitely, but once they're graduate they can't tell them what they can pursue as a career even if it's something bad like if they want to be a drug dealer. No obviously that's bad but they're 18 and even if they're out of the house they can't really stop them if you do something illegal and they find out in the house or out of the house I can call the police but parents can't think that they can just control their kids even after they're in the college era but especially if they're trying to pursue a career that's in the right just because it's her dream for her so to be a doctor. If he wants to be a dancer or choreographer she can't stop him. Too many parents do that, and too many parents mess up their kids. They have no right to even think about. As long as he or she is happy and at least making a living that should all that counts. Parents can raise their kids and discipline them and scold them and whoop their ass when they act up and be disrespectful that's a parent's job, but to tell them they're going to do this even when they're of age and can do what they want specially even after they leave the house when they're so young trying to make them think well even though you're grown you're still really not grown we're still going to tell you what to do now you still have no right. Some parents need to learn when to stop parenting it puts some people in a early grave.

      Oh here we go with the “they can do what they want” dogma 🙄
      Okay little white girl 🤦‍♂️ That’s what your comment gives-privileged, entitled, little white girl.
      Abishola’s style of parenting-That’s black, African culture, even with some African Americans. It’s culture. It’s the way of life. Parents have the best intentions for their kids.
      Abishola’s no different than many other no-nonsense parents in my opinion. She’s guiding her son through strict, inflexible parenting. As Dele gets older and fully gains her trust, I’m sure she’ll lessen her stringency.

      @@queenbee3561 If you are an African kid you would have related with what i said and make no issue out of this. No one becomes sucidal among Africans because their parents wants the to attain the highest position. The worst is they switch programs in college. Or you think western world having highest number of graduates from many African countries like Nigeria is just coincidental. You might not like the model but it is part of many African children success story. And this model is used also in places with high competitive clans from India and China. No issues here.

      @@ooob464 Dude, I am the child of a African parent, and guess what? They don't push their dreams on me! And also, guess what? Pushing your dreams on your kids is the most selfish thing you can do, I don't care if they actually enjoy the job you picked out for them, it's still selfish that you made them do a job that they probably don't even like.

    Dreams are great. There’s nothing wrong with following your dreams. But please eh, first go to medical school. Graduate. THEN go and follow your dreams.
    Doctors are great. Becoming a dancing TikTok doctor giving people tips and tricks on health care while dacing? Even better.

      @@ooob464No, he won't and the terrible narrative has to stop. Your child is a person of his own. If you want to put any pressure on him it should be pressure on his dreams and to achieve them. You can pressure your child to not being a slacker. Then they will appreciate you for teaching them hard work but no child is happy that you dreamed for them. That's a big fat lie and I'm Nigerian with Nigerian parents in Nigeria. There's always space for everybody to do better

    How can the son be happy about her decision? When he graduates he would have studied medicine for many years and he’ll be at least close to 30. If he also studies dancing, how the heck will he be able to pay for university (and to have time to study both plus practice dancing), his mom doesn’t make too much money. He’d be lucky if he gets a scholarship (even though I know that he may because he’s a good student, but what if not). Also when he graduates he can do whatever he wants no matter what mom wants, because he has his medical degree anyway. But he’ll be a bit old to try a dancing career.
    In the end the mom totally got her way... but the show made it look as if it was a fair agreement for both.
    I understand the mom, but she should have said “ok, you get to study dancing but at the same time you’ll choose another career to get a safe degree”, and he gets to choose. But she’s forcing him to study medicine, which he doesn’t want and also takes so many years.

    • @bootsieginger1
      @bootsieginger1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Momma wants Deli to be a doctor and unless something major happens I don't see him getting out of that yet he can get a minor in choreography (dancing) which will not require as much time as a doctorate in medicine. So, on the side he'll be able to pursue what he enjoys. Can't help but feel he's better off now than before Bob's help.

      It's just the way some traditional Nigerian parents think, they want their children to study medicine, law, or engineering. Like to be called mama doctor or mama lawyer for their pride. When the child graduates, he will pursue his dreams. But right now things are beginning to change, parents are becoming supportive of their kids dream than in the past.
