Graham Linehan wrote all my favourite sitcoms. He's also a great defender if women's rights. Thank you Graham.

I'm so glad Jordan has had Graham Linehan on his podcast. Graham is one of the earliest voices against this madness that I remember. He lost everything because he wouldn't stand for insanity. Great man Graham.

Linehan is a hypocrite who HIMSELF regularly banned people on Twitter & told his fans to 'no-platform' them if he disagreed with them, BEFORE he himself got 'no-platformed', and banned. Now it's happening to HIM, he suddenly thinks it's wrong!!
Used to be a fan of his but he is SUCH a hypocrite-THAT'S why none of his former mates are speaking up for him. NOT cos they're 'scared'.

I’m a practising Catholic and a huge fan of Father Ted and Black Books. Enormous respect to Graham for holding out. That pressure and stress of the bullying he’s suffered for saying extremely reasonable things takes an immeasurable toll on a person.

This explains why British TV isn’t anywhere near as funny now. IT Crowd was my favorite show of all time. It’s sad that people would rather destroy good art than to let someone have their own valid opinions.

To see someone as intelligent and decent as Graham be reduced to fleeing his country and shaken to the point of physical tremors is appalling. He was as left wing as you could get but they piled on him without a thought. I hope he has great success in the USA.

It's truly disgusting what's been done to Graham Linehan. He gives an excellent account of himself here, but it's clear this has taken a huge toll on him - occupationally, personally, financially, socially, and sadly, clinically. This would all still be deeply unfair if it happened to anybody of course, but the fact it was done to a man who has bought happiness and comedic joy to so many people is just cosmically wrong.

An excellent discussion, Andrew Doyle is always an impressive speaker. I hope his and Graham's new comedy projects in the USA go well. I can see more and more creatives moving over to the USA, where the right to free speech is enshrined in the constitution. Dr Peterson was in great form in this discussion, his analysis is spot on. He was also looking particularly smart in the grey pinstripe suit. The Trump victory in the US Presidential election should spell the beginning of the end of woke over there, but it will take time for the ripple effect to reach us in the UK, especially with a newly-elected leftist government here who are authoritarian and pro-woke. We're in for a rough few years. People have been sent to prison for a single statement made on social media, so we're on the slippery slope towards Stalinism over here. There is no such thing as "hate" crime. Something is either a crime or it is not a crime. I loathe this Orwellian language.

I live in the Netherlands, the country which was ruined by Mark Rutte. I wholeheartedly agree, Europe is heading towards a world of pain. We had cheap gas, now we pay 6 times as much for much lower quality gas from the USA and we pay for another country which is in-between R and Europe. Germany got completely de-industrialized because of the lack of gas and expensive electrictity, the Netherlands strongly depends on the Germany industry and wellfare which is disappearing fast. The governments here now waste money on military toys instead of things like education, once again the budget for education got cut, while the population is growing. Europe is heading towards a world of pain!

@@oliveoil7642 I see the USA and UK cause a lot of suffering all over the world, Europe is far from innocent too, they participate. It is clear that the USA is the current empire of the world (USD being the world trade currency) and the UK was the previous empire of the world. Europe has been a lapdog of the USA which does whatever the USA tells it to do, that doesn't make them any less responsible.
We had a fiduciary money system without a hard currency since the 1970's, that has a limited lifespan. It is quite impressive that so far they could prevent a hard crash but it will happen eventually, according to many economists somewhere in the 20's or at latest 30's.
In my modest opinion much of what is currently going on (war against Russia) can be explained by many countries understanding that this will happen soon, countries want to have a strong negotiation-postiion when that happens and they want to weaken competing countries from another block in the world. Depending on how you interpret Rutte his words he might have alluded to this with "preserving our way of life".

    • @elpidalastname9834
      @elpidalastname9834 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

@oliveoil7642 it all started in WW1, when Britain saw just how much society was willing to let them get away with.
The Defense of The Realm Act (DORA), was created during WW1 as a justification to suppress and invade the lives of private citizens. Things such as banning alcohol, illegalizing the use of a camera, feeding birds, or even whistling for a taxi was illegal Britain unless it was to signal an air raid. They would even jail people who used "disloyal language". They even went as far as to create a social movement to shame men who refuse to join the army. Children as young as 16 were shamed by their female friends & girlfriends, despite not even being legally capable of joining due to their age.
The British government also quickly adopted the idea of manipulation & propaganda through news. Despite popular belief, average people were actually very good and moral. As always, it's the politicians and greedy businesses that cause problems. So for example, when Germany invaded Belgium, they stole Belgium's church bells and melted them down to help with the shortage of steel.
By the time it hit Britain's media, the Germans apparently tortured women & children in Belgium and hung their bodies upside down in the church bells to use them as human clappers.
This tactic of media manipulation was used under DORA as a way to motivate their citizens to fight to save Belgium women & children, but also out of fear for their own family's lives. Britain quite literally lied to lure in men as young as 16 to join the army. But don't misinterprete what I am saying, I am not defending Germany in any way. They were just as bad as Britain.
On the bright side however, this goes to show just how heroic and good people can be. But unfortunately politicians can use that to trick us into believing we are doing the right thing.
The reason I mention all this is because it's moments like this when we all slowly started to lose our freedoms around the world. And they try to use fear to justify it.

Fantastic Jordan, so big of you, having Graham on. Your podcast gets huge traction. So many turned their back on him. The hobbit spite and nastiness of island life, on these most western shores of Europe, oh so toxic. How did the runt of the litter get into all these positions of authority? Graham has been hammered like so many of us. Leaving Ireland and England is a sadness for him and for those he's inspired. Hope he gets a chance to turn the pen back towards Ireland and England still, and not just write on stateside issues. The weak, petty, administrative, unsoulful, completely unfunny, with little to no creativity, has co-opted life. But we sense a turning of the tide now. Staggering to the level is has escalated, no matter, the Carabi return. These booboos need to be taken out of positions in the Arts and Sports first, put back into the hands of Artists and Sports people, for we want back, our ability to dream. And they be our dream lands. We do this and everything else will follow. Great chat, shine on. Power sang Tears for Fears, on and on and on.

Europe is Hell. I live in a totalitarian country Slovenia. I am retired now, but I could never learn my profession, never save any money because I have been paid so little, never bought my own home.
I am under surveillance 24/7, I am not allowed to have any friends or personal relationship. I am socially isolated. When I am sick I am proclaimed healthy by the Slovenians and I have to get treatment abroad. This costs but it keeps me alive.
I applied for a political asylum in Canada in 2011 and was dispatched back to Slovenia.
    The misery continues.

Maybe the new comedic duo of Graham and Andrew can write ‘new’ texts to be shown alongside the ‘woke’ explanations that are presented next to all the artworks in Museums and art galleries explaining these too! 😂😂😂
There’s a topical sketch right there! 😂😂😂❤loved this interview Jordan.. with my two favourite people…❤many thanks. I love your chairs and your suit too.. you are the dude… !😂❤

Graham was an early cancel culture warrior himself and he will admit it, driven by his fervour to protect feminists from criticism which is a very Gen X way of seeing the world. This crystallized view was where he stopped at. The Focault world view had moved on though and Feminism was now as oppressive and aged a world view as Christian Conservatism or Modernist thought. He was then disposed of like the rest of us because there was a new twist on identity politics that had reached a political power state that was also being protected from both skepticism and criticism.
Glad to see him survive this, I watched his Twitter conversations since 2008 and it was clear he was headed to an almost biblical reckoning, which is almost comical if you think about it.
