Picking my ZX6r up in 2 days. Im both insanely excited and nervous at the same time. I've felt what the Ninja 300 can do which i thought was utterly insanity so yeah...... haha

Picked up my CBR600 F Sport (F4i) for an amazing price & has everything you want from a 600 with just a slightly better riding position for comfort - 100% recommend plus its honda so you could shoot it with a canon and it would still start back up! :)

spicy110 Yeah the RR is cramped but performance wise (for similar years) there's nothing in it if you get a 2002/2003 F4i its fuel injected, light and great all rounder - compared to others that cripple you after an hour its a delight and still looks good with tons of cheap mod options.

@@CptSlow89i was a CBR6 fan for years until I rode the Ninja and I found the Ninja is the most comfortable for long distance (310miles) out of GSXR/CBR/ZX6R. I've only ridden an R6 up and down a street but I think it would be more like the GSXR on a long journey, firm with vibrations.

I love that fairing stay delete, makes it looks so much modern! Any idea if the fairing stay is off an ZZR 600, by any chance? I believe the '05-'08 is a bolt on mod, but not sure..

Agree with the comment about litre bikes to some degree but the Zx6 is still a very quick bike and probably still breaks any limit in second gear as you put it (maybe even first) I think its more about restraint with the bigger bikes and knowing when and when not to give it full throttle or any bike really

I came off an old courtesy bike back in February while my bike was serviced. It had the worst, spongiest brakes I've ever had a displeasure of using and locked the front while emergency braking. That thing was barely road legal in my opinion lol... perhaps should have just taken a taxi back the moment I pulled off and was not comfortable with the bike at all... but I digress.
I fractured my left distal radius (left wrist). Few chunks were sliding around in there and so I needed surgery with plates and screws and all that stuff. I got back on the bike about 8 weeks later, the moment my wrist was able to bend back enough to grip the grips and pull the clutch without tiring my hand. Those 8 weeks were boring as hell though... the real work starts once the cast comes off though, trying to get the bloody joints mobile again and gain the muscle back. Oh well, at least I had a valid reason to miss the crappy winter weather : )
You will be back to riding soon enough. 3 month later I got like 95% of my movement back and only a little bit of pain on occasion. Just don't rush and make sure your bones heal first before you put any strain on them.

I'm tempted to have a 600 in my stable. Love the RR but would probably kill my back, the Honda CBR600F of older years looks a good bet.

  • @1100HondaCB
    @1100HondaCB 7 ปีที่แล้ว

I totally agree with you say. I had a ZZR600 and could use all the revs in 1st and 2nd gear. I now have a CBR1100 Blackbird and if I try to open it up in 1st or 2nd gear, I need to back off because it feels like it wants to throw you off. Even in 2nd gear with the CBR1100, it is not hard to nearly reach illegal speeds. I like the Blackbird but as you say, the 600s are still great fun and I picked my one up very cheaply and then sold it for a profit.

Looks like you had fun there, something along those lines would make a pretty sweet second bike. I'm glad you treated it with respect too, better than some other people borrowing it have, because as you say when it's someone's bike you owe it to them to bring it back in the same condition that you borrowed it

I put LED bulbs in my J2 , bike looks much better 👍 They are excellent for touring, more comfortable than rival 600's and excellent on fuel due to full fairing. I wish you spoke more about tyre feedback and just revelling in the grip/cornering ability rather than the sound. I always enjoy your reports , best wishes in 2024!
I think you'd enjoy 2018 SV650X as a second, just for prowling around making faces at people under your helmet! 😂😂

Kawasaki and Yamaha have this rule where you have to be over 25 or 21 and have had 2 years continuous riding experience on a full licence, restricted or unrestricted. Honda will practical let you ride anything, that you're licensed to. People say BMW are cool as well because they sell cars as well as bikes, much like Honda, and they have the same insurance policy as the cars on test rides. Ducati, I think, are owned by Fiat. So you have a good chance with them too. I've yet to ask Ducati because I really can't afford one anyways. I'm on an A2 licence riding a 125.

Honda hornet 600, mines a 1999 model so has an odd size front wheel but it handles great and can scream crows away at your harts content.Everyone that's taken it for a ride loves it and said it felt like a big crosser with sports bike power (It uses a cbr lump) oh and the rev limiter is a lot of fun :)

Had this 2001 ZX6R sitting in my garage for awhile now in a few bits, mista' dave. Was originally a project bike me an gnice brought for I think £1300? surprised us, because the entire front fairing and headlight unit was ziptied to the damn mounting bracket! otherwise, was pretty good 'nick' - only things really that made us question how in the hell it passed an MOT, was the fact that the wavey discs were scarred, and the caliper pistons had rusted through, not to mention the piss poor electrics, annnd of course the entire front end being ziptied to the bike *shudder*
However mista dave - curious about the pricing for parts, to replace the entire electrics, ignition, fairings, headlight unit, bracket ( Possibly even the front forks and rear shock ... especially the rear shock, considering its brown and rusty, all of it is ... eh. )

So many people denigrate 600s for lack of power/,speed/ torque woteva reason then turn up to a track day and get passed every time by 600 riders who took the time to truly learn what a good 600 can do in experienced hands
Nothing better than out braking out turning and consequently leaving some fud on his/her litre bike in the dust on a track
    Moral of the story
Don't jump to a litre bike whilst your 600 is still capable of doing lap times and speeds you Personally are not capable of doing

I get the idea why you want another bike so badly. Because it's a long way to germany. BUT...
Don't you think you will be more comfy on a real touringbike?
Something like a V-Strom, a Versys or maybe even a BMW. You know what I man? Sitting more upright and really really comfy.

+Simon Lütt that's not the only reason tbh but part of it, infact I have a plan for my first euro trip if I can sweet talk a certain German bike brand haha

Mr D Yamaha r6 have a silly high rev count of 18-19k. zx6r has around 14k rev limit. but I like zx6r 99 more over bandit 600 - Yamaha r6.

Well, here in Canada most people say Zee, but bilingual people usually say Zed. That being said, I live in Quebec right now so... In French it's Zed. Oh and that's why bilingual Canadians say Zed cause in French it's pronounced Zed.

Your road positioning on corners is shocking , I’m wondering if you are still alive ???
You are very close to death on every corner.
You should be on the opposite side of a bend so you can see further around the corners and have more vision ahead instead of taking them blind. On right hand bends if a car come towards you and over steers a little your mince meat, as your leaning over into the other side of the road. Your head will become a bowling ball.
Apart from that cool video. 👍
