    Informative video, but a closeup of your wiring to the Shelly would've been icing on the cake.

    Great video, just trying to get my head around how I would tie this into a conventional 2 way switch circuit, ie switch at top and bottom of stairs + this to control remotely & still keep the other top/bottom switches…

      @JWxUK Thank you. RF Wireless switches are a great option for that type of setup as there are no wires needed from the top to the bottom of the stairs, it works like this th-cam.com/video/Tthpe5YKKcE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=36PVD0s9R7DIqXvO

    Do you have a diagram of how you wired the Shelly to the light bulb/power supply? Did you just split the line voltage and send 1 wire to the L and I terminals, and then O to light and return on neutral?

    • @SHORTwithTECH
      @SHORTwithTECH 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes that's exactly correct, just split the L wire for the bulb on the input and output and tie the neutrals together, hope that helps you

      @@SHORTwithTECH Please can you show me a quick diagram about this connection? Would it be possible to add a sensor to the Shell 1 to detect if it was on or off, because I am using the Shelly 1 as a door opener.

    • @SHORTwithTECH
      @SHORTwithTECH 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @m3dlar788 sorry I cannot add a diagram on TH-cam, it's very easy to wire up though, just wire it up like this:
      L = Live Wire
      N = Neutral Wire
      I = Connect to LIve Wire
      0 = Connect to L wire of the Device you want to Control
      So for example if your turning on a Light Bulb you would connect the Live terminal of the light bulb to 0 and then connect the other terminal of the light bulb to N. If your not confident wiring it up then I would highly recommend getting an electrician to do it for you as you could seriously hurt yourself experimenting with high voltage so be extremely careful please.
      You don't need to connect a sensor to it to tell if it's on or off because It's a smart switch so the on/off status can be recognized by using a scene or setting up an automation to do anything else.

    Here's one for you. I'm using my Shelly 1 relay so I can use my cell phone to turn on and off the exterior lights on my RV at home at night connected to our home internet router. Works great and added the manual switch as well. Here is where I need help. I have a Winegard internet wifi dome on top of the RV and would like it to work as my Wifi 2 connection so when at a RV campsite that has their internet which they share with guest it would be cool if I can still turn on off my exterior lights with my cell phone using the Shelly. Going to try this tomorrow but if you have any thoughts on this working or not let me know why. Thanks

      That sounds like an interesting challenge. Depending on the distance you are from the RV it might be easier to do that using a Bluetooth switch connected to the Shelly relay switch input as trying to do what you want over someone else's guest WiFi won't be an easy task

      I see the bluetooth selection on the app. Not sure how it works though?

    • @SHORTwithTECH
      @SHORTwithTECH 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @TimsWorkshopTJY Nah that's not what I meant, i mean use a seperate Bluetooth switch to trigger it. The Shelly 1 is Gen1 so it's not supported via the app over Bluetooth.

      Ok, will look into bluetooth switches to see what they are?

      @TimsWorkshopTJY I have one which i will be reviewing on the channel in a few weeks which might be helpful for you if your not in a urgent hurry

    About 3 years ago I installed these throughout my house. Unfortunately, they are now failing one after the other. I love them but I really think they should last longer.

      @blueelectricfusion great idea, it's not over the cloud but it still works well th-cam.com/video/9yK1CSWCK-I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=OkkVGzGNFFXW5Bfh
