I welded plastic models together when I discovered that my Dad's soldering iron did more things than it was designed for. Not only did it melt soldier to join metal and wires together, it joined plastic and did a reasonable job as a wood engraving tool. After I received correction and was able to sit down again, I received a wood burning/engraving tool for my birthday. Decades later, Mack Tools sold me a Plastic Welding kit with every type of "plastic" welding rod imaginable.
Why not use the dust taken from the toner cartridges instead of the one obtained by abrasion from the pieces of carbon? The toner granules are also coated with a very thin layer of polymer that allows them to be fused together with heat, thus improving the adhesion simply by passing the joint again under a flow of hot air before finally bonding them with the cyanoacrylate. I will try this method!
