I also started the new year with the stomach flu. And I ALSO just got a new desk chair and made a spinning mistake. I also have the problem with a pet that won’t let me work. Except mine is a fifty pound dog and he’s discovered that he can push my chair away from my desk. Like “right mom! That’s enough of that!”

I just thought of a solution for the wiggly leg! Have you tried putting some kind of paper or cardboard between the leg and the fireplace? It should stabilise it.
