Very first indeed for the Cook Islands and for the South Pacific, no other south pacific islands have ever placed closely to 6th placing in any World Pageant or International Pageants, Cook Islands is the first. Thank you Tajiya for your well deserved achievement in placing 6th in the Miss World 2019 and the hope that you continue to work and inspire our younger generation of young Cook Islands women to help them develop the skills and face challenges and to be confident in themselves when they are actually representing our beautiful country on the world stages in all levels. Meitaki ranuinui e Kia Manuia. Te Atua te Aroa noou e maine.

Miss Guam in 1980 was the first runner up and then crowned Miss World after the reigning Miss World that time was removed due to a scandal. So, yeah, Guam was the first pacific island to either win a title of any pageants or that close. I mean Cook Islands was so closed though. But I wouldn’t say very first Pacific Island. In Miss Univrrse, Miss Hawaii won Miss USA and then on to win Miss Universe 1997, but represented USA instead of Hawaii because is a state of America.

@@forme3h Thank you for that information, its good to know, eventhough Im proud of Miss Cook Islands she may have not won, but she put the Cook Islands on the world map. Maybe one day who knows we may never know the Cook Islands will take the crown.🥰🥰🥰

@@taraankrah4433 you’re welcome. But yeah, it would be so awesome if Cook Islands snatch the crown. I’ll be rooting from Hawaii. Btw, Tajiya is a very beautiful young lady and very happy for her in her big achievement. Much Aloha!
