It’s here! The updated MCU timeline, containing everything through August 2023. This video adds Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Secret Invasion. It also includes some changes and corrections to the timeline which are detailed below if you’re curious. My plan is to update twice per year, once in the summer and again in the winter. So the next update will be around Christmas, incorporating The Marvels, Loki Season 2, and Echo. The official MCU timeline book will also be out by then so I can compare to that and see if anything needs to be moved around in the video. *PLACEMENT OF NEW EVENTS* 1985 THE HIGH EVOLUTIONARY VISITS EARTH [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3] This was placed in 1985 because James Gunn tweeted that the High Evolutionary visited Earth in the 80’s (which explains why Counter Earth looks the way it does). Without any further information, 1985 works nicely as a guess (i.e., right in the middle of the 80’s). But, in addition to that, the car Peter and Nebula take is a Dodge Diplomat. The model we see includes a third brake light which wasn’t introduced until 1985. So he would’ve had to visit Earth no earlier than 1985 to see this model car for it to be replicated on Counter-Earth. Thanks GQ! (www.gq-magazine.co.uk/guardians-of-the-galaxy-vol-3-cars) 1997 - 1998 FURY MAKES A DEAL WITH THE SKRULLS (AND MEETS HIS FUTURE WIFE) [Secret Invasion] Thank you Secret Invasion for including year title cards in your flashbacks! 2007 ROCKET RACCOON IS BORN [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3] This is a fun one… There’s no great way to pinpoint the Rocket flashbacks. You can’t go off his age and work backwards because he clearly ages slower than your average raccoon (12 years pass between Guardians 1 and 3 which would already make him elderly for a raccoon). So, I went off the little data we have. Across the various flashbacks, Rocket goes from a very young raccoon to a nearly fully grown one. Raccoons typically grow to full maturity in the span of a year. So, l assume the flashbacks all take place over the course of one year (this assumes that the cybernetics don’t slow this process down, but just slows down his aging once he reaches maturity). In that time, the High Evolutionary goes from batch 89 to 92. So, let’s assume he gets through four batches per year on average. 89 batches / 4 per year = ~22 … I.e., Rocket was born 22 years after the High Evolutionary produced his first batch. If we assume he began counting these batches since he left Earth (i.e., each batch represents another round of experiments on animals taken from the planet) then… Experiments began in 1985. Add 22 years and you get 2007 as the year of Rocket’s birth! 2009 KANG IS STRANDED IN THE QUANTUM REALM [Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania] In the Empire Spoiler Specials podcast, Peyton Reed referred to this as taking place 21 or 22 years after Janet was stranded (thank you MCU Fandom for finding this quote!). 1987 + 22 years = 2009. It could just as well be 2008 but since we only have this approximation, I chose 2009 to fit better on the timeline (firmly between Iron Man and Iron Man 2, rather than some overlapping). 2012 NICK FURY FALLS IN LOVE [Secret Invasion] Thank you again to Secret Invasion for on-screen year title cards! 2023 AVENGERS: ENDGAME - Expanded to include “The Harvest” [Secret Invasion] This didn’t get its own chapter but I embedded it in the ENDGAME recap. 2026 ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 SECRET INVASION The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special closed out 2025 and per the Disney+ Timeline playlist (they have a playlist which lists everything from the MCU in Timeline order), we know these all take place after that in the order shown above. *OTHER CHANGES* I made many little changes throughout the video, so I’ve only listed a handful of the more significant ones below… - IRON MAN is pushed back to 2008 from 2009. I had originally placed it in 2009 because, despite evidence it took place in 2008, Iron Man 2 was set in 2010 and shown to take place 6 months after Iron Man. It seems they’ve retroactively decided they no longer take place 6 months apart because sample pages for the Official Timeline are available on Amazon, which indicate Iron Man takes place in 2008. - SHE-HULK’s origins are now pushed back to 2024, while the main events of the series are kept in 2025. This is also per those sample pages showing the events of the series take place between 2024 - 2025. - Guardians, Guardians 2, Winter Soldier, and Spider-Man: Homecoming have all been shortened a bit. In part, to make them clearer and more concise. Also, to stop this video from getting too insanely large as I add additional shows/movies (for the next version, I’ll probably continue looking for ways to shorten previous sections). - WAKANDA FOREVER is pushed back to before SHE-HULK per the Disney+ playlist and consequently, T’Challah’s death (which takes place one year before the movie) has also been pushed back - MODOK… I had originally stated in Ant-Man that Cross was killed. Then about a week later, an image was released revealing that Cross becomes MODOK. This has now been worked into the Ant-Man portion of the video. - Pronunciations! I must have been craving Ramen or something when I made the first video because for some reason, I chose to pronounce Romanoff as “Ramen”-off. These have all (hopefully all…) been corrected… Along with my pronunciation of M’Baku, Ammit, and Jotunheim - Charaction mentions: I sprinkled in a few additional mentions of Maria Hill and Kraglin in earlier movies as they are part of some significant events in Secret Invasion and Guardians 3. I also added a mention of how the Guardians met Cosmo (in the Holiday Special). *WHERE’S AGENTS OF SHIELD, DAREDEVIL, ETC???* Aside from the fact that including EVERYTHING would either make this video absurdly long or too summary level for my tastes, I also don’t think the events of those shows belong in what basically amounts to a (fictional) historical account of an entire universe. Think of it this way: if you were to write a history of the real world, you might mention the creation of the FBI or CIA and maybe even mention some of their MAJOR cases. But, you wouldn’t mention every case they take day-to-day. In the same way, this video doesn’t go through SHIELD’s day-to-day (i.e., Agents of SHIELD) but it covers major historical events involving SHIELD (e.g., formation of the Avengers, the HYDRA parasite, SHIELD’s dissolution, etc). On a meta-level, it's also clear that behind-the-scenes, there are essentially two tiers of “canon”. There used to be a TV division at Marvel (Marvel Television), separate from the Film division (Marvel Studios). This was in the era of Agents of SHIELD, Daredevil, etc (sometimes I miss those days). At the time, Feige only oversaw Marvel Studios and you could tell canon was mostly kept one-way. I.e., TV shows would reference events from the movies but almost never the other way around. The most egregious example would be the fact that Coulson was brought back to life on TV, but if you only watched the movies, you’d have no idea. A few years ago however, TV was brought under the same umbrella as Movies and now both fall under Feige’s purview at Marvel Studios*. Now, the shows are much more embedded with the movies. To me, it seems that Feige considers the movies and Disney+ shows to be part of the “official canon” and everything else (i.e. the stuff that he and the movie people didn’t have direct control over) is on a sort of “second tier.” I.e., you can assume all the events of those shows happened but they won’t be heavily referenced and could be ignored if you only seek to understand the major events of the MCU (which is ultimately the purpose of this video). Having said all that… When Daredevil gets his Disney+ show, I might add some high-level events from the original series to the extent they seem relevant / are referenced in the new series (same for other characters like Punisher or Quake). *Since then, Feige has been promoted to Chief Creative Officer, overseeing the comics and animation as well.
Really appreciate your effort in all of this! However, I don't think Love and Thunder can take place after She-Hulk, since the finale of that show references Jane as Lady Thor
Thank you! 🙏 I especially appreciate this comment because I spent almost a full day trying to get all the volume levels / sound quality relatively equal between the probably 50+ different recording sessions haha

Thank you for everything! I’m looking forward to finishing this video and my drive. Hope everyone is doing well!
What if someone actually took the time to recap the entire timeline (including all the uncovered series like Agents of Shield and the Defenders' series)
This is something that's confused me for the longest time. Love and Thunder is placed after She-Hulk, even though in that show, they make a direct reference to Lady Thor. Then I remembered, Love and Thunder is all narrated by Korg, who by by that point had already lived through the events of the movie. So my theory is Love and Thunder DID happen before She-Hulk, but Korg didn't get around to telling the story until after, likely around September-October. I love deciphering the MCU Timeline, it can get confusing at times, but its also fun. It's like solving a puzzle and it really puts into perspective how massive the MCU actually is.
Small correction; kingpin doesn't have enhancements. He's just so large that he's like a brick wall and also has some body armour (at least in daredevil)

Well done.. Pretty sure I'll watch this again becasue I've watched it before as im already subbed... Well done! Bravooo Bravooo!
I've always found the events of The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor very confusing. Because there's so many things that don't line up. In Civil War Vision says Tony outed himself as Iron Man 8 years ago, putting Iron Man in 2008. Then Iron Man 2 starts saying it's 6 months after he announced he's Iron Man, but then the Stark Expo is in 2010 putting Iron Man 2 two years later. In The Avengers Thor says the events of the Thor movie were a year ago which would make it 2011, but Marvel specifically says the events of The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, and Thor all happen at the same time in the span of a week. It's all very confusing.
@@OneTakeVids bro that is absolute horse crap But they be letting them old youtubers post 48 hr rain sounds and shit lmao Maybe it'll change by the time the timeline gets that bloated out
Thank you! 🙏 I’ve thought about it but with the current DC continuity ending and given that most ppl weren’t a fan of most of it (me included haha), just not sure it’d ultimately be worth the effort. Might be interested in doing it for the new DC Universe though!
This is an insane effort lol. Thats a like and sub for sure. Ive had it playing all night and now this morning while i was on Starfield. Good work friend!
I've never seen an MCU movie. Like the first spiderman and ironman and that's it. But now that i have a kid, I'm intrigued. Thanks for this - By the time he's of age I'll be able to keep up w all this stuff!
MCU wise, want to preface that. I think ego will be talked about as a celestial that was created by a higher form of celestial. He’s like a puppy they let loose unneutered and let him forge planets himself for them. I think it wouldn’t underplay peters relationship, but it’d show power scaling better on how high they stand as these crazy powerful beings. Otherwise I’m down for the comic route and let’s get CRAZY!
You could have edited your comment instead of posting it three times 😂 wait I just found another comment of yours😂 and another! How many times did you comment?😂
Day 4 of watching the video only thing I think u glimpsed over was during the attack of NY the sorcerer supreme the ancient one was fighting in tht battle as well via avengers endgame video 🔥🔥
I know this is a nitpicky thing that really isn't significant, but it's a pet peeve of mine when people act like Steve Rogers was ever good at following orders. Colonel Phillips did not want to pick Steve Rogers for the serum for multiple reasons, one of which was implicitly that he was not the best at following orders. The fact that Steve was willing to commit perjury on so many enlistment forms after being told that he could not join the army and how stubborn he was toward anything that Bucky would tell him before enlisting, it's very clear that Steve Rogers was never good at following orders. I don't think his awareness that following orders and doing the right thing can be two different things started with the rescue mission. I think that was at the core of his personality his whole life. I don't think that he ever knew how to follow orders.

Maybe it'll change by the time the timeline gets that bloated out
This is amazing 😭, make a new fresh one
Coming this summer!
@@OneTakeVids can’t wait
I wish they showed who got blipped in every MCU project after Endgame.
Masterful job! Loved it!!
That was awesome, took me two days to watch this but it was well worth it!
You should make a similar one for DC universe..... appreciate your work on this one , watched in one go ☺️
Thank you! 🙏
I’ve thought about it but with the current DC continuity ending and given that most ppl weren’t a fan of most of it (me included haha), just not sure it’d ultimately be worth the effort.
Might be interested in doing it for the new DC Universe though!
You know you’ll have to remake this adding in the Netflix series
He’s probably gonna wait until Deadpool & Wolverine come out so he can that to the update.
The dedication is insane, much appreciated and respect dude.
I really enjoy the orchestral piece used when you talk about hydra or specifically Arnim Zola. Brings in a bit of feeling to the segments. 1:37:11
Thank you immensely much for making this video !.
Glad I'm pouring a drink for this... thanks hurricane...
This is too perfect to be true. You're an avenger, sir 🫡
This was awesome ten stars man good job
This is an insane effort lol. Thats a like and sub for sure. Ive had it playing all night and now this morning while i was on Starfield. Good work friend!
I just recently got hooked into marvel, DC (especially Spider-Man) and I’m glad I’m getting caught up thank you for this 🙏
Bro maddddddddddddddddd respect that u had to edit this and speak for 5 hours
I was hoping there was an updated one when I was watching a different video, awesome timing!
Thanks for this iteration. It's been a lot of fun listening to it.
I've never seen an MCU movie. Like the first spiderman and ironman and that's it. But now that i have a kid, I'm intrigued. Thanks for this - By the time he's of age I'll be able to keep up w all this stuff!
to think i just watched the part 1 a moment ago and see this video released
Lol I knew there’d be a few people this happened to
Thank you for the hard work you put into this
Good work ,gr8 time. Thanks from Panama city Beach, FL
Thank you! 🙏
amazing video man loved it
Watched the whole thing. I hope you enjoy your day as much as I enjoyed the video :)
I wish Iron Man, Steve Rogers, Black Widow and tge Infinity Stones were still here.
You could have edited your comment instead of posting it three times 😂 wait I just found another comment of yours😂 and another! How many times did you comment?😂
Congratulations 🎊 u won a new subscriber
Interesting!!!
great video now we will have to wait 15 years again
just sat through 6 hours of you talking, you killed this. like+sub
I’m subscribing ASAP GOOD JOB MY GUY
A masterpiece. Thank you!
Dude, you should just make an updated version every single time on a movie comes out. Simple way to make more money.
That was great I look forward for more videos epic timeline !!! 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
This was a great listen in the background playing House Flipper 2. Really appreciate it, thank you!
Everyone should get an infinity popcorn or drink to watch this 5 half hour video. lmao
It sucks that Loki season 2 wasn’t released when this video was made I would’ve loved to see where it fits in the story
The fact it takes 5* hours to explain is kind of why they are in the pickle they are right now
Imagine if Nick Fury never got blipped.
They need to hire you over at marvel as the guy that makes sure everything stays within canon and doesn't get fucked up
Day 4 of watching the video only thing I think u glimpsed over was during the attack of NY the sorcerer supreme the ancient one was fighting in tht battle as well via avengers endgame video 🔥🔥
I enjoyed how you carefully and subtly avoided ascribing a year to the first Iron Man movie LOL
Best video so far
And She-Hulk someone mentions that there's a lady Thor now, so She-Hulk should take place after Love and Thunder
The events happened before. The telling of the story came after.
You're a legend bro.
