What type of breed do you guys use to make these calfs?
It’s not really breeds. You get the semen of a bucking bull that has top notch genetics from other top notch bucking bulls and inject it into a top notch hefer or cow that can buck good who has the genetics of top notch bucking bulls and then she’ll get pregnant which results in her having a calf and you then buck it with a dummy to see if it has the good genetics you want. And if you get a really good cow, and a really good bull, and someone wants to purchase either then you can take how ever many eggs/ovaries you want from the cow that those people want to purchase and you get say a couple angus beef cows to be sergeants. When you insert the semen into the eggs you took out of the cow you then insert it into your sergeant cow and she have the calf and nurse it. Or if someone wants you bull you can take how ever much semen from that bull as you want and then have that semen for breeding. And then you could sell the bull. So it’s not really about the breed. It’s about the genetics. You want them to have genetics of top notch bucking bulls to make top notch bucking bulls. Does that make sense to you?
