    I've always thought this was a weapon system ahead of its time. Thanks for your efforts.

      Not only ahead of it's time. But perfect design. It is well over 50 years old now. But the design was future proofed. Super long Elbit Systems Accular 122mm ER GMLRS rockets fit on RM-70 just by removing one of the reload salvo brackets.

    It would be more interesting if weapon legends got more detailed combat experiences part. But good video. I do think this system looks outdated but I don't think any mrl systems like this ever become useless.

      artillery will never become obsolete. the ukrainians love this system and its used in a lot more units than was said in this video. the reason they like it is mainly because it has much tighter grouping compared to the grad so for roles like counter battery fire its much more efficient, in a interview with a crew that operates this system the commander said that they use 15 rockets per target and that this is more than enough. there is not many videos of the impacts however there is some and they show how destructive this system is. one video shows 15 impacts from a vampire on the left bank of the dnipro and from the footage you can see exactly why its basically known as a cluster weapon because the impacts cover a area so well. its a absolute counter battery beast.

      I agree with the first part. The second part doesn’t make much sense.

    Great video but one clarification: the hellenic army hasnt decided on upgrading them though it is a possibility. Greece is going through a strategic re organization of the priorities for the armed forces and unfortunately non of the current info speaks about the upgrade of the RM70 to any level nor the acquisition of new rockets. Army recognition should not be trusted as a source. Otherwise good job and cant wait for more videos!!

    You should provide the torque too because that’s much more important than HP in most vehicles, but especially heavy trucks. That’s why big rigs have 5x more torque than HP.

      According to Moscow, about 80km, as they blame czechia for delivering the system to ukrainians and now it is "bombarding" their cities. In reality, 20km.

    I'm not sure the RM-70 is "better" than the BM-21. The RM-70 may have slightly better protection, which is proving irrelevant considering the BM-21 has laid waste to Ukraine, with NATO/Ukraine and The West, unable to provide a counter. It bothers me that MLRS ammunition doesn't have far greater range vs an artillery shell considering the propellant application.

    • @dannyzero692
      @dannyzero692 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      First, I don’t know what you are smoking, the Ukrainians don’t see the BM-21 used against them that much since most of them blew up already.
      Second, NATO has laid waste to the BM-21 before during the Gulf War with aerial support and M270 counter battery.
      Third, MLRS absolutely does have better range potential than howitzer shells, that’s why the Soviet Union used them as deep strike weapons to saturate defenses and destroy bases.
      The RM70 is superior in every way except in firepower and accuracy, because it used the same tubes and rockets. Mobility, protection and reload speed are its main selling point.

      @@dannyzero692 firstly, Russia has 8000 bm-21 grad vehicles only, and besides them there is a Hurricane (70 km range), a Tornado (90 km), a Tornado-G (an upgraded version of the Grad - a range of 40 km), there is a Tornado-C (a range of 130 km), then there are operational and tactical missiles with a range of 300km.Russia has the LARGEST number of MLRS in the WORLD, with North Korea in 2nd place
