I watched your video and it was very informative like the lot we like to know where I can get one of those resistor packs how much and how do you take PayPal and approximately how long does it take to ship one to I would say I live in Northwest Ohio thank you very much
Nice VDO. I'm going to buy this charger (used). If I discharge with resistors bank like you by use a bad battery (very different of IR value of each cell). will this charger protect each cell from volt going below than setting and completed with balance ?

@@smcarmel as long as it is a good quality battery. You will get the most benefit from a 40 amp cycle. 20 amp will be easier on the battery and pro long its life.

I'm curious, what do you think the realized power gains are? Are we talking 2-3% here? More? Not sure how you would really test this other than "feel". Anyway thanks for the video!
Great video and got my icharger 308duo setup in no time. One question, how important is it to enter the mAh on the discharge programming? I currently have it set to ignore, will I damage my packs?
Voyage RC thanks. Guys at the track that have ichargers have it set to ignore because they think that if you have it set to a specific mAh, it could stop before proper voltage.
Could you use this setup to discharge a 1S battery with 40A ? Reason why i ask is that the manual states that the balancing board needs to be connected for regenerative discharging and off course with a 1S lipo that is not possible since it is only 1 cell.
I have exact same set up battery and all. I put the battery to Storage mode at the end of the day. It roasted my charge cable. Do I need to set up separate set up for storage mode???
You dont need to, but your battery would thank you for a lower charge/discharge rate. This shouldnt have fried your cable. Its less abuse than a normal cycle.
Got a question. On my charger on the regenerative channel it says 40amps but on battery side it says only -8 amps what am I doing wrong it's a 4010 duo btw. And power never went over 200watts on bank side
Question, I have purchased the icharger 4010duo and have been able to discharge battery packs using the charger itself. So what is the advatage of using this setup over the charger itself. Hate to feel like im doing something wrong or missing out on something, thanks.
Using this setup will allow for faster discharge. The charger itself can only handle about a 10amp discharge. Using the resistor bank ups the discharge to 40amps.
Thanks for showing the steps! Very helpful for me since I don’t know what voltage to set the resistor bank/sink voltage to. So you recommend to just max it out since the resistor bank doesn’t care what voltage?
@@VoyageRC yes I know but your cooler and head think will works very well?? Or is normal to stay so hot in aluminum piece , and thanks to reply me and about your video
So basically server pulls that have had bullet connectors soldered on? On top of that, it's a product that isn't going to be warranteed... Blows my mind.
Sune Olsson higher than a 2s has not been tested on this particular resistor bank. Setup is the same and it will discharger higher cell count batteries. It just might not hit 40amps.
Heat is terrible for lithium batteries. Cycling from discharge to charge at high rates will damage the pack chemistry. Same goes for reverse charge to discharge, ie charging a pack to running in a vehicle or on a load
Ted Markson feel free not to do this. This is what a lot of the top stock racers do and I have had a ton of questions on how to setup the charger. Yes it is harder on the batteries and you will have to replace them more often. But you also do get a performance boost.

The C rating is just referring to how many times the Amp Hour rating of your battery. It does not affect the settings. I higher capacity battery will show a lower C rating at 40amps.
This is a way to generate a little heat in the pack to lower the internal resistance. Racers will high amperage discharge and then immediately charge the battery and go race. This provides a little more punch during the race.
Make the damn things take AC voltage and be able to discharge without an addon. Chargers are by far the worse part of getting into RC racing. It's straight up ridiculous

Yes 40amp charge and 40amp discharge

Nice VDO. I'm going to buy this charger (used). If I discharge with resistors bank like you by use a bad battery (very different of IR value of each cell). will this charger protect each cell from volt going below than setting and completed with balance ?
The charger will do its very best, however, if the battery has a bad cell then things can go wrong. Always keep an eye on the battery while charging.

You can set it all up on the same profile. 👍🏻
