why did you make ''expand'' before using eraser tool ..? what is the aim of expand at that point..?Thanks a lot

The "eraser tool" was used to create a straight cut at the bottom. When you create leaves and stems, the bottom line is not always 100% flat. Before you can use the eraser tool your object needs to be expanded several times. This will keep everything proportional without distorting the object.
