I love how authentic this looks to the previous games. There's no modern gimmicky features which the older games never would have had, just a new Metroid Prime for modern hardware.
@@pmatias I don't know where that ~1.4x figure is coming from, but this very much looks like a Steam Deck-calibre game and the Switch 2 might end up being more powerful as it is very likely to leverage Nvidia's DLSS upscaling technology and possibly even hardware-accelerated ray-tracing. There's a good chance the game will end up looking much better than this once it's fully optimized to the new hardware (especially lighting and particle/gas effects), but I have very little doubt that this is running on hardware that we have yet to see.
@pmatias you are mistaken, look at those particles, lighting, smoke and anti aliasing, and notice the steady 60fps, at 1080p that's 4x to 5x more powerful than the switch 1.
So, we knew Sylux would be involved somehow thanks to the ending of Corruption, but I have to wonder a few things. 1. Why are those Metroids just floating there instead of attacking anything that moves? 2. How soon after Corruption is this? The Space Pirates were devastated by the end of 3, how quickly did they bounce back? 3. Is this still set between Metroid 1 and 2 like the previous Prime games? 4. Is the Prime title just a reference to the gameplay style, or does Dark Samus return somehow? All Phazon in the galaxy was destroyed by the end of 3. And are we going to be getting remasters of Echoes and Corruption?
To answer you first question, someone in a comment on the Nintendo channel upload of this, said those could have been Mochroids; failed clones of Metroids, made by the Space Pirates. The reason they don't attack anything, is probably because they won't until ordered to do so.
1. At the end of Federation Force, Sylux breaks into a Federation base and hatches a Metroid egg where the larva imprints on him as its master. These other Metroids may be offspring of that one. 2. This game takes place 3 years after Corruption. The Pirates still look devastated: they're attacking a federal base with only a single cruiser and a small squadron of fighters instead of the enormous fleets they had in Corruption that were strong enough to fight an entire federal carrier strike group. The reason they're winning is because this place looks like an isolated facility with minimal defenses and only a small security detail. 3. Should be. 4. "Prime" simply means a first-person Metroid game.
