Thank you so much for making this great video. I can’t tell you how much this has helped me to understand how to make a box and what supplies are needed. You’re so generous to share all of your knowledge and tips with us and it’s nice to be reminded that it’s okay to start over when you don’t like something. I really enjoyed watching the process from start to finish and a long video was greatly appreciated. The box is absolutely gorgeous! I bet your buyer is thrilled to have a video where they can watch its creation.
Love the end result, absolutely stunning. From one artist to another, a little tip for your cutting blade, place a small piece of masking tape on the top of the blade where you put your fingers, giving you a little more grip, not to mention an easy way to know which side is which, since doing this i have never had any more accidents of picking up the wrong end, hope this helps.
Cathy, Thank you! I know I need to put the tape on, I just keep forgetting, I am going to use your tip in realtime on my next video! Happy 4th I hope you have an amazing day!
This turned out so beautiful. Thank you for showing your entire process. I’ve watched all your videos and this served as a great refresher. Could you add your wood tiles to your Amazon list? I can’t find the rectangle ones. The only ones I’ve found that are the right size have rounded corners. Thank you again for making such fun and informative videos. I’d wandered away from clay for 2-3 years and now I’m enjoying it more than ever before. ❤
I also pre-bake any wooden item before working on it, to make sure all moisture is evaporated. As for broken, with a clean break, Elmer's wood glue is excellent! The repair will be stronger than the wood. Just glue, clamp if possible, let dry completely, and carry on.
@@MollyYoung-artist 275F for Cernit (transparent) and Premo. 300F for Kato. Premo is my main clay, but since Cernit's translucent is so much better than the other brands of translucent it's my goto when I need translucent. Kato, is when I want that extra strength and some canes.
Baking time, I think a lot has to do not only with thickness but what you are making. A piece of jewelry stands on it own and will be handled a lot, however a tile will be attached to a hard surface and not handled near as much.

Thank you Cheryl! The rectangles I bought are no longer available :-( I added the square ones I use to the list!

Robin! You are the best, thank you.
Also what temp do you "pre-bake" the wood at?
