    I have taken several art courses, but you have the best teaching methods I have seen. I find myself using your techniques almost unconsciously since they work every time! Thank-you!!

    Hi Michele I wish you a very speedy recovery. Hope you're feeling better soon. If possible could you do a tutorial on drawing lilies. The star lilies and carnations as well when you feel well enough. I love this tutorial on Hollyhocks. That lesson about drawing the veins on the leaves first, is a blessing. I would never have thought of that. And the position of petals on the Hollyhock was very very useful. Thank you Michele. Get plenty rest and take care of yourself. God bless you. Susan ❤❤❤💐🇨🇮☘🙏🕊👍

    What a blessing this video is! I've not been painting for several months and lost my way so to speak, especially in starting the sketching process. Your teaching is precise and helpful! I've followed your videos off and on for several years and always liked your teaching. This may be the first time I've commented. Thank you for getting my watercolor juices flowing again!

    First of all I'm very sorry to hear you've been ill. Covid can really knock a person back so I hope you get back to full health really soon. Plus this is a very helpful video. I really struggle with the way leaves curl this way and that and trying to get that feeling of depth in the center of a flower so I would love even more videos on this.

    There is excellent advice throughout this video. I often feel true Artists never make a wrong line or mistake so I am lacking. A masters class on Hollyhocks would be amazing. I also wonder how one would approach flowers with small pedels. That said, I did purchase Michele’s recent flower course bet my answer is in the course just need to get started. Sending get well soon vibes to Michele.

    I hope that you are well on your way to complete recovery by now, Michele. You are quite right, one can never have too many black cats! While I enjoyed this video very much, starting with veins on the hollyhock leaves was a real eye opener, I would love to see a video of some Egyptian inspired art. Possibly something including a nice black cat?

    Thanks for all the wonderful and clear videos. I too spent a week w covid, and found drawing to be an excellent companion. I do have trouble w human and animal figures, which I would want to include in paintings. So a simple way to approach this topic - figures in action, in repose, at a party, seated, etc. - would be most appreciated.

    Michele Weber wrote " if there are any other flowers (or anything else) you would like me to draw for you. " A country cottage/bungalow with porch. My roof always looks so bizarre. (sigh). BUT I won't stop trying. 🙂

    I am surprised that you did not do the diagonal grid method which would also help focusing on each section of the photo and the shapes. I like the grid method because I can concentrate on sections rather than being overwhelmed by trying to figure out each petal/leaf, etc. I know you stress drawing skill development and I think the grid may help those who feel overwhelmed when looking at the photo. Also if you, the artist, choose to take liberties with your original drawing, that too is OK (unless you are striving for photo-realism).

    • @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber
      @IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that for flowers, there's a possibility of making them too stilted by going too far down the grid or accuracy road, and they are very forgiving!

    I enjoy drawing and painting flowers but I’m not interested in leaves. I enjoy other people’s renditions of leaves. I usually avoid leaves or I begrudgingly paint them. I’m not sure how to change my attitude towards leaves. Interesting and helpful video, thank you!
