    Please make a video of where the Aztec/Mexica people originated from and how all Native Americans are closely related. How they share the same language, DNA and other similarities. Also include how they were all interconnected via a vast network system of canoes and human transports.

    • @cierakitty
      @cierakitty 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of all the Native American tribes..wasn't the Pawnee the closest...having a lot of carvings looking like Aztec gods ? Their forehead and nose bridge was closely related , more than other American tribes. And is it true they also would bound a woman captive to a post and slowly shoot arrows into her body, but not to kill quickly, thus allowing more blood flow into the soil to assure fertility of the land ? (wish I could remember where I read all that). I am going to try and find that again

    It’s important to remember that a lot of what we “know” about the Roman Catholic conquest of Central American is similar to what we “know” about the Roman conquest of Western Europe. Vital details of these cultures might be lost forever, but more power to the people still trying to piece it together.

    The sign was originally was just a eagle on a catus plant, the snake was later added by the Spanish conquerors. They used it as a sign of the divine message of imperial rule by the Spanish over the plumed serpent God Quetzalcoatl. If you look up the first Mexican flag, there is no serpent depicted in the scene.

    I have never understood why ancient civilizations believed they had to make the sun rise every day. Egyptians believed their religions and the pharaoh accomplished this. The only attempt at addressing this, that I have ever seen, was the suggestion that some peoples in Mexico had abandoned a former homeland because of volcanic activity. Volcanic ash can blot out the sun, as can eclipses. But eclipses are rare and complete eclipse is only experienced in certain places during the event. In either case, when the sun is covered it feels a lot cooler. Or maybe ancient peoples remembered terrible climate events where clouds obscured the sun long enough to cause crops to fail?
    It seems like thousands of years of survival would give a hint that the sun is constant and predictable. It boggles my mind that anyone would think sacrifice is necessary to make sure the sun appears every day. There must have been times in the dim past when the sun did not seem to be so predictable. Can we imagine a desperate group of people who struggled through a long period when the sun was covered or not warm enough to grow crops? Perhaps toward the end of the event, in utter desperation, the ultimate sacrifice was made, and the next day the sun returned to normal activity? Something like that could be responsible for thousands of people being sacrificed over the years to come. If the sun once more became cool, more and more sacrifices could be offered until everything was normal again.

      I mean people today still believe that a man un robes will send you to hell for nos following the rules he made. So how is it far fetched that people believed the sun was a God?

    • @annalisette5897
      @annalisette5897 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chapogyr It makes perfect sense that the sun was god. Akhenaten's Aten imagery is beautiful; Aten, the sun, giver of life with caressing hands and the ankh, symbol of life. What I wonder about -- I bet Weird History could do a great job exploring it -- is how humans got the idea that their actions were needed to keep the sun on its course? It's not just human sacrifice. Egyptians had their religious rituals intended for the same purpose. I was born and have lived much of my life in mountainous regions where I loosely comment that winters are 8 months long. I can sort of see how peoples in the north -- especially the far north where the sun barely shows all winter -- might wonder when the sun would return to change the seasons but Egypt and Mexico are blessed with abundant sunshine.
      As for hell....it isn't exactly in the bible....but it is a great concept for political control. ;-)

And that the higher ups did not spare any expense to be 'higher ups.' I am reminded of the Mayan 'higher ups,' resorted to public self mutilations so that they might continue to be 'higher ups.' In the western traditions, there were sporting events in Coliseums and so on? Politics as expected as given from a historical perspective?

    You should do one on The Great Law of Peace , The Actual History of the Longest Still Standing Successful Peace in World History [and still counting], The old saying Bury the Hatchet with ceremony, and How all of this shaped the United States Constitution Democracy.
    And Add the Mohawk Iron Workers that built the Twin Towers and then helped during 911.
