SoundlinkTV recent had a chance to chat with the guys in Chelsea Grin in Charlotte North Carolina at The Final Cross Country Warped Tour. The band kicks it off with what it's like to be apart of the final Warped Tour and new vocalist Tom Barber talks about what it's like on his first Warped Tour. The band continues to talk about what it's like to be a 4 piece now.

Exactly, alex really didn't sit well with chelsea grin. Tom barber has that blackened kinda death metal vocals style and it perfectly fits Chelsea grin in my opinion.

I agree they are better off with Tom, but Alex’s highs on the my damnation album are by far the most blood curdling, spine tingling high screams I’ve ever heard in my life
there are a few chelsea records i absolutely love with alex and i wouldn't change a thing. But people have moved on and tom is a great musician and fit in the band now

TBH just started listening to CG so don’t no anything about the other lead vocalist...But from what I’ve heard is he was a beast and help pave the way for this band so not sure how anyone can hate on him and TOM YOU A BEAST!!! Tom is all around better Alex can't scream more than 1 minute then starts talking verses cause he is out of breath and Tom can do gutterals and highs solid through a whole live show ain't hating but Alex live ain't what I would pay for
shelly lee it’s obvious that Alex lost a lot of his talent over the years. I don’t know if it was drug use or if he just stoped practicing, but back in his prime Alex was better then Tom. But let’s be honest Tom is the better vocalist now

I understand the comedy aspect of someone reading off the mean messages or mentions they get online, but it’s starting to become a trend to have people do it which to me seems like it’s condoning and encouraging people to bully people online. It’s random people yes, and they are trolling and it is funny at times, but telling someone to end their life kinda takes it far because you never know what someone is going through mentally or where they’re at. It triggers people. That whole interaction rubbed me the wrong way haha

Alex was a good vocalist like 10 years ago! I’ve seen Chelsea Grin live atleast 8 or 9 times now, Alex has always been trash as fuck. The first time I seen Tom with the band, it was legendary! Tom is a fucking boss. Honestly if Alex comes back (“He’s taking some time offer for health issues”) I’m not listening to Chelsea Grin anymore. That boi Tom revived this band.
I don’t know why they just didn’t start a new band with the new music. The new music is obviously great and super heavy.

Nope, the bassist is the longest current standing member I believe but none of them are original

The bassist was on everything besides the first ep but they barely play any of those songs live outside of recreant
The bassist David joined when the ep was out and they were touring it and then wrote desolation and the rest is history

I listened to all of their new album several times and I dont remember any clean vocals, theres little to none of that

Steven James according to Kevin Lyman this is the final Cross Country tour. He’s not clarified if that means final tour or what the future holds for it.

ill never get how anyone can prefer old CG to this. old CG was just ripping off suicide silencr verbatim and after the first ep, it was straight to the watered down overproduction with no real punch that so many deathcore bands were going with. other than evolve, the back catalog of CG isnt even worth checking out if you already heard the new album. its in a whole different league even if it has a few flaws also. this 4 piece is solid.
