Martin was a an extraordinarily man, he was the man who fought for Irish freedom, and then worked so hard to achieve it through peaceful means. I’m from an Irish Republican background my relative was Sean MacDermott who was one the leaders in the Easter Rising. My Irish family moved to Wales and I was born in Wales, when I was little bit the troubles were coming to an end, I remember he peace process, I remember the Good Friday Agreement. I moved to England in 2001 I’ve lived in England since then, I’ve never hidden my views of Irish Republican cause, I celebrate my families history, I celebrate the struggle, but now thank God the troubles are over. Some people on England were delighted to hear that Martin died, I for one was gutted, because I recognised the legitimate cause of which he fought, but what I respect more than anything, is the fact this man with others saw there was a chance to get a United Ireland through peaceful means they put down the Gun and they locked up an olive branch. It wasn’t a surrender, it had become a political fight, but it is a struggle without the guns and dying and the killing. I have to say that even people from the unionist community have worked hard to bring peace. The peace isn’t perfect, it’s still fragile there is so much work to be done, so much work to make sure that the troubles never come back, and for those who believe that the guns should come back, they need to know, no one wants it, North or South, they are very small minority, they are not wanted. If only Martin could see that Sinn Fein wine the vote that they are the biggest party in the North, if only he were here to see that. The troubles are over, now we need to build a new Ireland where all people are welcome, Catholic Protestant, those who are are from British decent and Irish decent. God save Ireland and ALL the people who live on that beautiful Island of Ireland ! Peace and love to all ! Up the Republic !
Martin Mcguiness is such a great man, the people of Derry are such a great and proud people with such dignity and respect, I often wonder as a man from Sligo do they hate the people from the 26 counties for abandoning them to British occupation.

Im just sick of looking at corruption in politics ... ministers wives on 6 boards and getting 6 pensions for doing nothing. Giving away national resourses for literally nothing .... its sickening ...

@IrishDub18 Nope , you have made a false assupmtion there ... i was one of those people who was deeply troubled that nearly the entire population had become a vacuum of morality. Also I would like to add that i understand in nearly every detail everything about this crisis , from the united states to china though i would have serious doubts that you do judging by what you are saying. Also yes , i blame the government for the country being messed up , but wouldnt that just be logic ?
@kargwain187 i cant say if i would have allowed it because i dont know. i do know that in banks if you werent making the money eg making big deals it would effect your job, but that was more of a culture that developed all over the world, starting in america. i dont think having this guy, who is widely known as being with the ira, who has a video on youtube giving death threats, would be a good image for ireland, especially when the president doesnt have much power anyway. not worth it
