What the hell happened to IMAX enhanced? All that marketing, licensing and branding on the avrs and gear… Are there any 4ks or blurays in that format?? Its been a few years
There’s only a handful of iMax enhanced dtsx disc. I have them all. Sony did marketing on spider-man and venom but it never came to be!! It’s been a disappointment to say the least!!
Right on. Ive been playing around with my home theater. Been using the 7.1 analog multi channel connection from the oppo to the preamp for non atmos Blurays. Damn that sounds good. Its an outdated connection that no one uses. I dont think its on most newer receievers/processors. Sounds like a real theater. Love it.
Sounds like you're ready for some new speakers. I'd look to do the front stage before the height channels if you really do have the itch. Also, not that it matters since you have a Shield but I don't think the Apple TV's can do IMAX Enhanced since its tied to DTS. I never really understood what it brings to the table though. Something to do with bass management and full range signals to the speakers; no idea. It didn't seem to catch on with disc's but maybe it will offer some benefit in streaming.
The Sofabaton is a home run easy review. I suggest using that X1S and showing how the activities buttons work with showing each step in button programming works. I bought one using Hatoraids example, and really like it. May if you showed us how to do the IR management in your rack?
I re watched M Night Shyamalan’s signs last night. Early bluray, no dolby or dts. 5.1 Uncompressed PCM. What a great early Bluray. When the dogs bark, its a total Jump scare. Sounds so real. Dolby and dts is great. But its amazing just how good those early blurays were without it. My early Rocky Balboa also is uncompressed 5.1 pcm. One of my favorite discs to this day. I will upgrade to the new 4k, but i cant wait to do an audio shootout between the two discs.
There’s so much technology out it gets overwhelming to the point where I feel stupid. As far streaming, at least on my setup the video isn’t the problem but I’ve never been able to get atmos to work and it just isn’t to the level as a physical disc and this is just my opinion. But some people more learned than myself say that once you get your system set you shouldn’t have to mess with the levels and I wish that was the case but different discs sound better that others and if I’m not pushing close to clipping then I’m not happy. But I’m excited about the new subs for review.
I watched Rebel Moon pt 2 on Netflix and it was in Atmos. My Denon was set at DTS: Neural X, and it switched to Atmos for Rebel Moon. It sounds really good.
Such a cool rack!! Gee, I wonder who the subwoofer mfr could be ;) lol 🎉 Personally I would love to see/learn more about your rack and wiring. Everything down to how you wired the room for power! As for the peavey, yes “more power!” Hah. I wonder if you could do an A/B between your subwoofer setup and the new ones?? If not, can you try and take REW measurements before you install the new subs? Would be cool to use as a comparison. One aspect on subs it seems a lot of reviewers miss when talking about super subs, is the musicality/ sound quality along with spl. Also, bangin subs is awesome but also how do the new subs perform at moderate listening levels. 🎉 Just some ideas. Thanks and get some sleep! 🎉
When they added the commercial free deal thing they took away atmos for their regular prime customers. Now they want you to extra to get commercial free and atmos

You have to pay the extra $2.99 to prime for ad free and retain atmos etc 🎉

Shove a cheap ground loop isolator between input to peavey amp. Its worth a shot, just watch for db dropoff.
