Or Maguire at 31 take it when people half his age are getting more than him despite being defenders (e.g. Wesley Fofana on 200k a week, Lucas Hernandez at 210 a week and so on). de ligt is a good deal - the guy is willing to take a significant wage cut to come and no champions league and 20K less than Maguire who I hope we will be able to sell - money that can be understood as money toward de Ligt's transfer fee
De Ligt deal feels good but not the YORO deal. YORO wants to join Real, so I wouldn't be surprised if he raises alarm in a year or two, if he join us this year. And that would be disaster.
Yoro Deal is just a means to arm twist Real Madrid to permit Gutierrez deal (they have first right of refusal) and an insurance should Brathwaite deal fail.
I hope it works out. We have been unlucky in the past when dealing with Bayern. Hargreaves only managed 27 league games for us in 4 seasons while Schweinsteiger was a complete disaster
The £170k wage for De Ligt is fine, the obvious problems lie with those on twice the money who don't lift a finger!!! The morale of the "mere mortals", struggling on £100 -200k a week, will make next season very interesting indeed!!!
