The big ol boots let you stay on the floor better, meaning you can avoid being pushed by first prize, gotta sweep, cloudy copter, the conveyor belts, being pulled by whirlpools (you still can get sucked in when you go on them), mrs pomp grabbing you and anything i may have forgot

This game has changed so much over the years. I still remember it just being an answer three questions per book and escape. I haven't seen it since so watching people play this now is crazy, the updates make it so much more interesting.
Baldi returning is wild because it’s the thing that made me draw in general, honestly happy to see dawko play it again 😭😭

8:20 This is interesting, the broken ruler event actually makes Baldi harmless since he loses his ruler.
Unfortunately for Dawko, Baldi still has the ruler for a few moments as the event starts and can still get you in that time frame.
Also, Dawko could have survived if he'd put on the boots or used the grappling hook to avoid First Prize.
He also could just check the wiki to see how things work...
That's how I figured out all of the items' uses in Baldi's Basics!

Doctor Reflex is definitely the most effort that has gone into the creation of one of these characters, with all those frames to his animation using a real clay model. It's awesome

Using the boots prevents the broom or the robot (or anything) from pushing you. They can save you from many sticky situations.

One tip:
Captions
They are OP but will be nerfed in the future, they reveal an accurate location of all sounds/characters.
Also, holding TAB brings up a quick map that is instantly filled with the map item.
Tips:
Use Q and E to zoom in and out of the map
Holding the tab key in gives you a quick map
You can see where miss Pomp is on the map
And you always have the map available. You just discover the map as you look around. When you buy the map in the shop it fills the entire map.
You can use the grappling hook in a tree with an apple on the tree to get the apple.
Also, if you use a WD NoSquee on a locker, you can hide in there without Baldi knowing
There is also a character that you might not have seen called “The Test”

The one at 8:21 hurts even more, because the bell had just announced that the event was broken ruler. If baldi did more ruler slap (I think that's the timing), the ruler would have broken, and he would have been fine.
Literally had the bell been a second earlier or had baldi been one second behind he would have lived.

I LOVE how this game's turning out!
Despite the small updates and the "loss of relevancy" Baldi's Basics has been getting, I really feel like MystMan12 is putting his all into the game!
It turned from a simple Game Jam horror parody of edutainment games, to a bigger, better "Horror" Roguelike (of sorts) with items, a shop, minigames, water fountains to replenish stamina, and so many other cool, fun, and neat features which make me excited for the full and completed release whenever it comes out! :D

chalk erasers are honestly one of the best items in the game.
if you’re stuck in a room and baldi knows where you are. hide in a corner and use it, once baldi comes, he won’t be able to see you, so he’ll assume you’re gone and wander the school looking for you until you make a noise again. then just wait until you can hear him and leave the room.
It's amazing how much farther off the rails this game has gone, truly impressive given the original concept

the reason you got stuck on the grappling hook is because there was a table in the way. The grappling hook stops when you reach the wall you hooked onto, but the table prevented you from doing that, so the game didn’t let you off the grappling hook as a result.
