I've been doing the cling film hack with my cosmetic bottles for years. Since moving to Ireland almost 20 years ago, I have to travel to the US to visit my family. I bought the largest size of my favourite shampoo, tightened the lid and packed it in my checked bag. The shampoo bottle had expanded and contracted having gone through 2 connections, meaning 4 planes total. Since then I've always done the cling or plastic film hack and also I wrap the bottle itself and tape the wrapping securely. I've been using the clothing-on-hangers + bin bag hack for years, also and thought I was the one who discovered it, lol. I did like her lemon + toothpick hack and plan to use that from now on. Though this hack wasn't one of the ones shown, when folding sheets and pillow cases back in the 80's, I had the idea that putting a matching set into one of the pillow cases would be a good timesaver. I've occasionally seen that one of household hacks.

Squeeze the shampoo bottle before tightening the lid. The vacuum helps prevent leaks.
