Everyone has always told me that those two 360 naruto games are pretty much the best naruto adventure games up untill now and honestly it's a missed opportunity that they didn't continue this series with shippuden.
I’m replaying the broken bond rn and I was just thinking that! 1000% agree would’ve loved this company to make a shippuden game I think it would’ve been amazing
As a person who had every console, and a Naruto fan, the 2 Ubisoft Naruto games were superior to any other Naruto game. Doing the jutsus and actually being kind of rpg are what made them better than the Ninja Storm fighting games.
As much as I love the Storm series, I really wish we also got more games like Broken Bond. It was pretty damn cool and had some dope concepts. Using the sticks to mimic hand signs was nice
Bad?? This game absolutely slaps. From what I've played of the Ultimate Ninja Storm series, Broken Bond was much better. The semi-open world and platforming mechanics really made you feel like you were exploring Konoha. And the fighting was so immersive! Each jutsu having a sort of mini-game during battles was a really interesting idea. Also, using the controller sticks to form hand signs was the best decision Ubisoft could possibly have made. Honestly if they brought out a Shippuden version of this game I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I’ve never actually heard anyone talk bad about this game. This was a step above Rise of a Ninja in every way and such a blast. Myself, my brothers, and friends would battle it out on the weekends. Was it your run of the mill fighter? No. But it was a very unique fighter and memorizing the jutsu using the sticks was a lot of fun. Each character was cool.
Really wish more developers today would take on anime games instead of just having Cyberconnect handle everything. I’d love an Atlus made Jojo Game for example.
There’s been 50+ anime games each year that aren’t done by CC2. It’s just that 1) People are picky with anime they like 2) Some were Japanese only 3) Some were Switch exclusive 4) Some were Visual Novels Etc And when I say this I’m not talking about original game IP/JRPGS, I’m talking games legit based on an anime, manga, or VN series
This game was the reason I got into Naruto. Still remember when I got this game and it was so captivating. The story mode was done so well. Loved the Sasuke retrieval arc which imo was the best ever done in any Naruto game. Also loved the Jiraya and Naruto moment in this game.
As a person who had every console, and a Naruto fan, the 2 Ubisoft Naruto games were superior to any other Naruto game. Doing the jutsus and actually being kind of rpg are what made them better than the Ninja Storm fighting games.
Those games nailed the edgy vibe and semi-open world, walking around ninja-style. I very much enjoy them, the combat was a bit clunky with a learning curve, but had some good weight to it. Overall this one had the ninja focus at the forefront, the movesets of some characters could have been a bit more bombastic and closer to the show, this is where the Storm Series prevails. Same movesets where a bit too "teenagers just beating each other up with the occasional jutsu ability". But they nailed a lot of the moodiness of the Sasuke arc. Crazy to me that this game is considered retro and rare now, I still got it in my shelf.
Best Naruto adventure game of all time. They fixed all the issues rise of a ninja had and made it even better. It was fun playing as sasuke jumping around the forests and exploring.
My favorite was the one where it's just a massive tournament on an island. I remember role playing scenarios. I wish the new online one was treated better. But they dropped the ball so hard. It had so much potential.
I loved this game, my favorite naruto game. The 2D gameplay is dope and the sound of the punches and kicks, they are loud and sound weighty. Man I wish this game got remastered for current consoles, way more fun than the storms games which all play the same. The only reason storm blew this game out in terms of popularity was due to the visuals, this game tho still has great visuals. Thanks Matty, you have a very similar view and taste in videogames like me.
That bad? It could be the best Naruto game. I’m not sure why Naruto doesn’t try more action adventure games. The fighting game makes sense but so does the action adventure game. Please make one soon.
I have very fond memories of this game. I remember just seeing it when browsing through GameStop one day and just being very interested, and so I decided to pick it up. I hadn't seen any commercials or heard about it or anything. But I was such a big Naruto fan and for some reason it looked very interesting to me. Great decision buying it on my part lol. Every little thing about it was so well done and set itself apart. The combat was well done and unique with the added aspect of the analogue sticks imitating hand signs for each jutsu, the exploration and traversal was fun, being able to run up walls and walk on water (but making it somewhat challenging because you had to actually control your chakra like they do in the show which was so cool!) and fully explore the Leaf Village and other places. Being able to assemble a squad of your choice (Naruto was always the default but it's understandable since it is his show afterall lol) to go out, explore, and fight. The unique areas where certain members of your squad had to use their unique abilities to get passed. Not to mention it gives a pretty good summary of the story spanning from the aftermath of the attack on the Leaf Village to the Final Valley battle. It was all done so well and I always looked at it as an under talked about and under appreciated game that pretty much flew under the radar. This game was a true gem and I hope they somehow, some day port it over to pc lol.
This game was ahead of its time and I can’t believe they never did a shippuden version. This was a 10/10 game when I was a kid I loved it, open world, fighting, different characters, the cutscenes yea this game was fantastic
I got gifted an Xbox 360 ones and bought both rise of ninja and broken bond. Those were the only 2 games I wanted to play on that system. Never regretted that
The only bad things about this game are: the Neji palm rotation minigame ruined my A button as a kid from how much you had to mash it in one of the final spots before a boss fight. The fact we never got a shippuden installment
I still have to watch the video, but i remember playing both this one and Rise of a ninja very close to each other at that time and thinkin "This is an improvement on every single aspect over the first one"
I just finished the game today. The gameplay itself was exceedingly more polished than the first. That being said. This game suffered from not having much Naruto story left to adapt. Most of the missions were filler. And they skipped the sound ninja 4 form 2 fights and the parts where the sand ninja showed up to help. The story would have been a lot better if they focused on those pretty significant parts instead of finding herbs for Guy sensei’s shampoo and potato chips for choji.
Damn! Matty, you made me crack up in a sad way when I saw this video. I remember at 18-19 randomly owning one of these as a gift from my grandmother along with a 360 and a bunch of other games. I remember selling this and other games for a good amount but after a week or two I instantly regret it. I wasn't even able to finish this game.
Mr.Matty I have a JRPG game recommendation for you called “Skies of Arcadia:Legends” imagine the boat riding from wind waker but in the skies with floating islands and your a resistance rouge air pirates (kinda like Robin Hood in a way) but I don’t want to spoil anything but I feel like you might like it cuz of anime art style and you loving JRPGS
Bro the more I watch these, the more I realize our upbringing was like, identical. Yuri lowenthal is one of my fav va's for the exact same reason and I was hype that he was the ps4 spider-man. I also feel the same about edgy-bois
Bad???? This game has been the Holy grail of anime games, but overall this has also be the best naruto game they’ve ever released (with the inclusion of the path of ninja the prequel to the broken bond)
This was always just a Naruto game I missed out on as a kid, cuz I was a PS2 and Wii guy. Now that I'm an adult, I'm missing out on it because damn can I not justify that price. And I'd want to get Rise of a Ninja first anyway. I will say, though, in my experience, Naruto games really peaked at Ultimate Ninja 3 for the PS2. Not so much 4 because I feel like it wasn't as content rich, even if I do like it delving into Shippuden. It's too bad Ultimate Ninja 5 never got localized, but the Storm games just don't hit quite the same for me. Storm 1 especially just doesn't hold up anymore with what all was cut in order to put all of the original series in it. I feel like the 360 games could fill in those gaps, at least. If I ever play them.
I'd say storm is more repetitive than Broken bond because combat isnt the onlt focus on bond while it is for storm. Storm got better combat but like you said bond has more interaction.
These Naruto retrospectives are so awesome! I personally never got to play lots of these games, because I didnt get stuff like an Xbox 360 until the Xbox One was already out, but lots of these I would see in my local game store or flee market and want SO badly! I was a massive Naruto kid when I was younger and I didnt get to experience any games until I got a PS4 back in 2016 besides a few of the DS games. Well really only one that I had on a flashcart I think a relative got me which was Ninja Destiny 2 ahhh good times..
I beat Rise of a Ninja and enjoyed it. I haven’t played a lot of Broken Bonds, it’s in the backlog, but they really did improve on everything from the first game. This video makes me want to go back and finally finish it.
BAD!? This is still the best Naruto game when it comes to a good story mode and multiplayer experience. Unlike Storm which is only good for the story mode.
This game was my everything back in the day, first game I ever got outside of the bundle on my 360 was rise of ninja, when a friend told me this sequel was coming I begged and begged my mum. All my friends were round every day after school for a few rounds of this
Thank you for either buying a nice enough headband that it doesn't do the weird ugly gap thing at the sides of the head that most peoples do, or bending it into place to be fluish with your forehead lol, it looks good!
The game was amazing but the online play was even better . I was top 8 as a kid and I was in a clan too and I remember beating the top players and some of them had modded controllers . It was all about that back B to substitute every single hit
I loved Storm 2, but because I was a 360 kid, I had to play Broken Bond instead of Storm 1. Heard a lot of good things about Storm 1, but after having played it recently, I think Broken Bond delivered its story mode much better than Storm 1. Combat was a bit clunky and character animations were a bit ugly, but I think Broken Bond overall is the better game.
Definitely not bad by any means. I do see a lot of criticism of the combat the combat not being more like the storm series. But the storm series has dumbed down, simplistic, single button combat. Even if you dont like the combat, the broken bond is better in almost every other way.
please do uzumaki chronicles I remember having a completely different experience than you had lol. I remember only beating the game because I wasted money on it.
wtf who said it's "that bad?" in the first place? It has one of the highest meteoritic scores of all naruto games. Anyway, I love this game so much beat it like 4 times.
No one needed to see Sasuke's journey lol. It's so one note. My husband and I watched all OG Naruto and Shippouden + Movies just this year, and he is by far the most frustrating character in the series after he leaves Team 7. His personality development is stalled for the majority of the series. Sakura isn't much better.
Story mode terrible as its fetch quests , if I remember it's has a terrible quest giving women plants . But the actual combat was enjoyable and I like the unique take when you perform ultimates
LOL no way, the biggest downside in an overall amazing game that was Rise of a Ninja was not having the JP voices, can't stand the US dub (and I'm not American, so don't you people start with the "puritan" discourse for preferring the original). So glad they added it to the sequel.

Year after year I waited each E3 hoping there would be a shippuden continuation of this series. Never got it 😢
Rise of the Ninja and The Broken Bond were two of the best Naruto games ever made. They should have continued this series going forward!

this game was so good it’s crazy they didn’t remaster it
This was 100% favorite Naruto game way to many memories online.
Ambience in this game is amazing. I’m playing this game again after 13 years and it’s incredible!

Uzumaki Chronicles 2 is one of my favorite PS2 games
Loved it but got tired of fighting puppets after puppets needed more unique enemies
@Randomaccount9470 I agree about that. What I really liked was the upgrading elements with the characters' unique symbols and stuff
It's crazy to think about that we actually got an open world Naruto game from the developers of Assassin's Creed.
My favorite was the one where it's just a massive tournament on an island. I remember role playing scenarios. I wish the new online one was treated better. But they dropped the ball so hard. It had so much potential.
ill never forgive ubisoft for leaving us with the trash button mashing ninja storm combat

Sucks this game is stuck on the deadly Xbox 360.

Yeah it's one of the nice one. Not that cheap thin metal one that bends like 99 cent metal lol.
I loved both so much i remember wanting a Bleach game like it as a teenager lol.
Loved this game & Rise Of A Ninja but damn, I remember vsing online being incredibly difficult.
Gotta love those clickbait titles (which work). I never heard a single bad word about this game OR Rise of a Ninja.
Loved this game as a kid still would play it
The game was amazing but the online play was even better . I was top 8 as a kid and I was in a clan too and I remember beating the top players and some of them had modded controllers . It was all about that back B to substitute every single hit
This and Rise of a Ninja are stil the best Naruto games
I loved playing this game as a kid but can't lie the cutscenes were pure trash just straight unacceptable 😔

Ubisoft and their licensed games were some of the better ones. “Rise of a Ninja” was great.
Naruto games went downhill FAST after this game was released
Why does this xbox 360 game look so great? Just today i got curious about this game again, and the environments are downright striking!
the open world aspect is what made this game the best naruto game outthere, maybe storm 1 is rivaling it.
damn matty the clickbait got me who ever said this game was bad? LOL
Is this a reupload cause I swear I saw this before
One of the best fighting games I’ve played
I liked it, except for the game crashing on me after I downloaded the bonus characters.
I really liked the clash of ninja games. That could just be nostalgia since i havent played them in years.
I would give anything for Rise of the ninja and broken bonds be Backward compatible on the Xbox one and series x 😢😢😢
Definitely not bad by any means. I do see a lot of criticism of the combat the combat not being more like the storm series. But the storm series has dumbed down, simplistic, single button combat. Where as the broken bond and rise of a ninja have traditional fighting game combo's. Whether you like it or not depends on how much you like systems seen in games like mortal kombat.
Even if you dont like the combat, the broken bond is better in almost every other way.
Ubisoft used to be so fucking good. :/
I always preferred these to storm well at least the first storm game which felt like a chore to play with how you progress
please do uzumaki chronicles I remember having a completely different experience than you had lol. I remember only beating the game because I wasted money on it.
