32 goals out of 47 at home ice, with that results he would probably hit 80 goals if all games had been played at scotiabank arena, he is very productive there
That combination of release and shooting accuracy he's got is insane. You look at the Georgiev goal and he knew it was coming, knew where it was coming from and he still couldn't stop it and he's a great goaltender.
He might have the best snap/wrist shot in the game. Possibly one of the best ever. The way he curls the puck in to his skates not only allows him to shoot around defenders and their sticks, but keeps the goaltender guessing when he'll release the shot. Go to any minor hockey game today and almost every kid is shooting like that now. I hope he continues to work on his one timer, though. If he begins utilizing it more, then he'll score 60. What a shot.
@@Hockeyhobo89 this season he's on pace for 66, and that's including ten games he didn't score on due to wrist injury. If that hadn't have happened he could have done 50 in 50, or better even.
if ovi was in his prime and played ottawa and vancouver 8 times each he would have 150 goals, matthews is the best goal scorer as of now, but he's a notch behind ovi
