- Vortex was one of the first roller coasters created by Bolligerandmabillard. The layout isn’t bad at all, and it’s quite smooth for its age, however I find the restraints on the other stand ups such as Green Lantern (Great adventure) & Riddler (Magic Mountain). We will always give it a go, as we enjoy every ride.Height:90ft MPH:50

Carowinds is my homepark and I call this the ultimate nut destroyer. Them crown jewels down there never felt the same after this ride. Rode it once and that was it.

What's your opinion of this ride? I think the layout looks pretty fun, but I've heard it can be extremely uncomfortable if you're a guy.
I rode it recently it absolutely sucks it has so much headbanging
Just bend your knees before the restraints lock. It’s not a big deal.
Not to be a hater but Carowinds is actually right on the border of SC and NC, hence the name, and actually the majority of the park (including most of the rides) lies on the SC side.
Charlotte is considered the location of Carowinds. All power to you if you want to be extremely specific, but for any legal reasons, the town of Charlotte owns everything..
@@EastCoasters yep I’ll be extremely specific. Charlotte is considered the address, yea. Everywhere else you’ll see the same thing I said. Both states even complete separate ride inspections.
Very rough ride, drove from Cleveland Ohio to Charlotte NC for the first time ever, and I tried it , it was a very tight fit on my broad shoulders to get the safety belt to latch, which it did. Didn't feel so good aftermath, and it was unenjoyable.
Very smooth ride for me, lose fit lotta room on the body, enjoyable for most who can ride it 🤌🏽
I can see myself getting beaten up on this lmao. I’m kinda short and I bet the restraints would beat the absolute crap outta me. Like Carolina Cyclone, my groin would be messed up too for the aftermath. Sigh…it is tough being a female. 🤣🤣
