- This is a beginner friendly quit pattern that uses the simple irish chain block to create a beautiful Fall quilt. This quilting video will walk you through step by step how to create this simple quilt project using some easy sewing techniques. Great for those just learning to quilt.
Finished project measures 21” x 27”
Fabric cuts needed: Rust: 10 @ 3 ½” squares and 3 @ WOF x 1 ½” strips, Harvest Gold: 10 @ 3 ½” squares and 5 @ WOF x 1 ½” strips, Natural: 12 @ 3 ½” squares and 6 @ WOF x 1 ½” strips.

Can this be made using larger blocks maybe for a throw size quilt? If so please help!!! Thanks so much
Absolutely! The Irish chain pattern can be easily adapted for larger quilts. One option to consider may be cutting yours squares 8" and your strips 3" . If you use the same amount of blocks that were in the video you would get a quilt that is 52" x 67". You would need to cut more strips though since the blocks would be bigger (and you would need more fabric :) ). If you went with the 3" strips, you would cut the sections of sewn strips by 3" as well. I hope that helps, thank you for watching and leaving a comment.

Absolutely! If you wanted to use 2” strips you would need 5” squares, or 2 1/2” strips you would need 6 1/2”. Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment!
I can see this sized up to jelly roll width strips in 9 matches and the solid squares up to 6 1/2" and made into a quilt.
