I remember years back the minister of transport was Khabisi Musunkutu while they were fighting for nothing he closed all taxi ranks, they must close them again because they are so entitled
It’s a free economy. Consumers can choose who they procure goods and services from. This taxi association is terrible and has a mindset that’s completely lacking in dignity, equality and basic human rights. Everyone has the right to earn an income. The taxi rank doesn’t have carte blanch to whatever they want.
i was watching the other clip about same topic, as much as i am against this story how thy are doing it, in other clip he says many people climbing into a private go missing, becasue thy dont know the person in the car and if you are involved in a accident you are not covered by RAF
Useless liar MEC.The cases of of criminality committed by taxi industry are high than cases of someone hiking picked by a stranger transport. these government people and the police are afraid of taxi operators period.
imagine if electricians went and hired security guards to go into your house and confiscate your wiring and electrical appliances if your family member changes a plug and then demands 2500 to release it. This is exactly the precedent theyre setting.
THESE TAXIS ARE SOMETIMES DANGEROUS,AS SOME TAXIS ARENT ROADWORTHY,SOME DRIVERS ALSO PUTING PASSENGERS LIVES AT RISK,BY DRIVING RECLESS FOR THE CREED OF MONEY.
😂 True. A mother cannot pickup her daughter that she stays with in the same house, she has to ask for permission or have to explain herself or have to pay.
Sometime last year the so called taxi association they gave a chase to some old man because he gave someone from the same church he goes to a lift...the old man got into an accident and died with his 2 passengers
This MEC is trying to protect the taxi industry, in South Africa we have a huge crime problem I personally know victims who were robbed by criminals posing as taxi drivers should we now say taxis aren't safe because of one or two incidences. The problem with this industry is they aren't innovative, but they border on gangsterism they want to force people to use their services by force they fight e-hailing buses etc.
I am 80. We had a fully functional public transport. We had trams, busses and trains. There were taxis but one only called one if public transport was not feasible. This industry and the road transport industry, destroyed all of this. They set busses alight, they set trains alight, and this Government allowed it. Now we have this mafia group who think they are above the law. If I and 3 friends choose to go for a coffee and we decide to use one vehicle, what has that to do with the Taxi Association?. In other words they are saying that every vehicle may only have one person.
Pohs! Who the hell do these taxi mafias think they are. This bullying needs to stop! People have the to use taxis or not. I do not have to prove to anyone who my passenger is.
Politicians are not using public transport. They don't understand the level of arrogance and anarchy women and children are facing. Taxi industry is a law unto itself. These taxi "patrollers" are extortionists because they demand money from defenseless unarmed drivers. I have personally bn a victim of that in a door to door car driven by some Kagiso guy called Jabu. He's known for his rudeness to women and children using those door to door cars from Joburg to Mahikeng. Sadly they don't even have an association where commuters can report them
Ahhh all talk no actions 😴 the government is afraid of the taxi industry..even as we speak today some taxi patrol now is stopping a car somewhere..no arrest is been made
Question to the MEC: Where are the safety and security officers that should patrol the roads to ensure that a situation like this is prevented. You never see such an action performed by the Dept. of Safety and Security. Is that not supposed to be part of their tasks, or are they only tasked to stop traffick in roadblocks writing tickets or standing around checking for licences or speeding? I understand this action will not really bring money into the Province's coffers, but is that not a task to be expected to be performed by Safety and Security rather than SAPS?
Responsibility to enforce the law: No, it is not mine but belongs to Public Works. What do they have to do with Safety and Security, they can't even maintain the roads properly.
These taxi thugs think everyone who uses the road has to report to them or abide by their rules. When the DA dealt with them in Cape Town, the ANC national transport minister was the first one to defend the thugs.
Taxi operators are just bullies by nature, most of us are victims of of their abuse. When you report the harassment to the police they'll just listen to them and leave you to deal with the brutality. Some of the times they even take your car/car keys and ask for ridiculous money. Cartrackers also won't assist giving their own reason. So in a Nutshell if caught you are on your own. This is shambles, we need proper intervention, and also educating drivers n taxi operators as well
They are rude How can you bully people of their money? People can do anything they want with their money Only the SAPS and Traffic Officers can stop cars
The taxi industry from their top leaders thinks they own roads ,we all pay tax n they cant tell u if yo mother or sister or brother on cant b picked n even if they have no money
If they are running a buisness are they not liable for getting charge for PRICE FIXING same as any other buisnes in this country, they want to tell buss owners and under them self how much to charge their commuters.
These thugs are taking advantage of the situation because some SAPS members own taxis -- So, reporting them at the police station is just a waste of time.
but who is paying them, now i understand why they doing that, i was watching the other clip on same topic, there he said that its dangerous getting into a private car when hitch-hiking as many have gone missing
This shows lack of discipline, SA everyone can just make is own law this behaviours, terrorising, intimidating, extortioning citizens you may not see it in any part of the world where government public traffic road some organizations prohibit citizens for caring their family or kids this may looks like the state of doesn't control anything. ..
This is out of control taxi industry is terrorist gang.
So well said!!! They think they own the roads & people's lives!!! The audacity!!!
@@fatimaantunes3287 our government build this attitude for them.
@@NationBaloyiNo they are afraid of them
With the help of politicians
@@NationBaloyiyes I agree, Government have let these THUGS for long now.
Since when do taxi drivers care about public safety.
Are they police?
Close down the taxi rank
I remember years back the minister of transport was Khabisi Musunkutu while they were fighting for nothing he closed all taxi ranks, they must close them again because they are so entitled
Taxi owners are not taking the law into their own hands. They're breaking the law.
They are rude
These people are arrogant. You cant even pick up your mother at a hiking spot anymore. Can you deal with them
Dealing with them = dealing with ANC thugs
And that's true hey.My cousin was harrassed for fetching his wife from work in Centurion. He had to show them photos. This is obsessed
you are going to hijack her
but i understand about the stranger story,
Taxi patrol is for taxi ranks . Traffic cops are for the roads . Saps is for all laws .
This MEC is mumbling
because i wonder if he's a SA citizen,
How was this guy even appointed 😮 😮 😮
I'm still asking myself that question!!!!!!!!!
He is talking nonsense
The government talks about extortion this one is pure extortion let them deal with it head on
It’s a free economy. Consumers can choose who they procure goods and services from. This taxi association is terrible and has a mindset that’s completely lacking in dignity, equality and basic human rights. Everyone has the right to earn an income. The taxi rank doesn’t have carte blanch to whatever they want.
I feel sorry for the public. We do not have leaders.
So what if you dont have enough money for taxi? Taxi fees is too much, it's expensive too much.
i was watching the other clip about same topic, as much as i am against this story how thy are doing it, in other clip he says many people climbing into a private go missing, becasue thy dont know the person in the car and if you are involved in a accident you are not covered by RAF
Useless liar MEC.The cases of of criminality committed by taxi industry are high than cases of someone hiking picked by a stranger transport. these government people and the police are afraid of taxi operators period.
Useless
The taxi business is no longer profitable, now they are bullying people to get into taxis by force.
"Transport MEC orders the arrest of taxi operators " now that's a headline I would like to see.
Should the government allow these taxi criminals to ban people from using their cars?
imagine if electricians went and hired security guards to go into your house and confiscate your wiring and electrical appliances if your family member changes a plug and then demands 2500 to release it. This is exactly the precedent theyre setting.
MEC you can’t force me to take a public transport! I can choose whatever option
So they want to force ppl to get into taxis?
THESE TAXIS ARE SOMETIMES DANGEROUS,AS SOME TAXIS ARENT ROADWORTHY,SOME DRIVERS ALSO PUTING PASSENGERS LIVES AT RISK,BY DRIVING RECLESS FOR THE CREED OF MONEY.
How did this dude get this MEC job without such basics, holding interviews with the media, hebana until until
😂
Thats Anc for us😱. We are going nowhere slowly 😂😂
Only SAPS and Traffic officers can stop me anytime, any other person "kuyophela izinhlamvu".
True
They pick up their girl friends...but our families re not allowed to pick us up😂...yhoooo sinyile 😒

This should really stop this is not their country alone n they r not the law
People, arm yourselves.

Dumb answer. Honestly.
Government fault
Mpumalanga you are on your own. This MEC is just dumb🤦🏿♂️

And if I don't have money... Will the taxis give me a lift? Stupidly only
Good question indeed
Those SAPS officers who did not assist the victim should be suspended. They are useless.
This MEC must be fired. This is unacceptable to basically say to us we belong to the taxi owners.

Disgusting.. where is SAP?????
this man is speaking a rubbish, the sooner this ANC nonsense is out of power the better.
Even the State is afraid of the taxi mafia man. There is nothing they will do but give PR statements and then disappear.
Ahhh all talk no actions 😴 the government is afraid of the taxi industry..even as we speak today some taxi patrol now is stopping a car somewhere..no arrest is been made
If they security are they registered with psira
so much of no accounting
Cape Town showed you how to do it and you the ANC condemned them
What law in their own hands? what right of taxi operators are being infringed?

What a stupid MEC 🙄 LAW OF GIVING A LIFT # it's my car my space.
ANC will remember this at elections
I'm currently with my colleague on a lift club so it mean i can lift them because we are trying save costs of high petrol price in our country
Public transport are expensive
This man is useless, how did he get this position
Weak MEC. I still ask myself, why are SAPS and the government afraid of the taxi industry?

We are so happy here in Zim you choose whatever mode of transport you want coz it's your money😂
Toyota stop taxi production lines rather make rickshaws
These thugs are breaking the law
Condemn in SA = full support in any other country
People still die in the hands of taxies so to argue that hitchhikers are not safe is rather pathetic
They are rude
How can you bully people of their money? People can do anything they want with their money
Only the SAPS and Traffic Officers can stop cars
This guy is conflicted. maybe he has taxis himself

And they don't even pay tax 🤣🤣
😂Taxis are now part of the law makers, some officials have shares in these taxi industries that's why you can get to a police station and no action
K53 mentions nothing about these thugs... Forcely stop me win a stupid prize simple as that ...😂
Who can the mec saying is not Banana republic this being happening for long but action isn't taken against taxi operators
