Calling Snoot game a 'parody game' is just not true. I mean sure it had shitposting? But its just a GOOD game, and easily a better game than that what inspired it.
Oh I completely agree with you there, Snoot Game is easily one of the best stories I've experienced it in a long time and it blows GVH out of the water. I wouldn't even have touched GVH if it weren't for Snoot Game.
Yeah, the pirate face the Snoot Devs had at the end of the stream was prizeless. Also, I remember there was a video about K OP not utilizing the popularity of the Snoot game but it's no longer available together with the whole channel. It had some good points about it. Oh yeah amd I bought the game recently, but man I dunno how I feel about it now.
GVH was definitely a game with potential. I still think the biggest missed opportunity was the ending. If you were to make a choice driven narrative about inescapable death and your relationships, I think the best choice for an ending would be to decide how you spend your final moments and who will it be with. Unfortunately, due to a pandemic as well as the change in storytellers, we won't be able to see what was originally intended for the story.

I remember first coming across it randomly on PSN and wishlisting it. This was before I found out about Snoot Game or anything really about it. I debated on whether or not to pick it up but I ended up not doing so. Okay sad to say this, but GVH only exists because of the Canadian Goverment wanted to "virtue signal", thats the only reason GVH got so far, because if it werent for it it would have faded into obscurity. KO_OP is not a bad studio, the other game they made is actually really cool, however they were not ready for a project of thie size, and it shows... The game in a way feels way to "Sanitized", as if the developers were afraid to actually bring true conflict into the game. The issues some of the characters face, how the game shos those issues/conflict, an overall the world building. For the end of days game, its looks extremely clean and organized when we all know that the second the meteor was confirmed society would collapse. But no, it doesnt everyone is just chill and decides to leave their loves ones just to watch a random band play. Also theur characters are very one dimensional, and for a game that is driven by this characters it makes it feel hollow. Specially when you can remove half of the cast and the story would remain the same, charcaters like Stella, Sage(you could say his opening up is important, but literally Rosa has a better opening up and she is crucial for the story), Naser, and Fang's parents could have been removed and the story would remain the same. Overall GVH is not a bad idea, it was bad executed, because moments like Fang being sad their parents arent coming did almost make me tear up, or their one cute reaction when feel embarresed about their stalker, or the DnD charcter designs are cool. However they all burried under shallow events, interactions and characters. The joke of "The want to experience/play GVH, just watch a playthrought" is real because options matter so little is like seeing anither oerson play the game for you. This is why SG is superior to GVH, because even people who hate SG and Cavemanon, even one of the GVH developers can admit, it has a better story and better charcters. That is because SG does tocuse on charcters and doesnt hide the crude parts, it gives you the good and the bad and that is what makes a genuine experience that captivates you, even to this day. I do hope KO_OP find success in theur next game (and for the love of th Lord, do proper background chekcs on your employees and not just hired them on their sexuality).

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thinks this game is deeply flawed because everywhere I go I see nothing but praise for this game. I was super excited to play this game but it was just so underwhelming. I know the end of the world is supposed to be an allegory for adulthood but the game is written for the most part as if the real disaster is just graduating...I didn't feel any sense of dread or the impact of the world actually ending (they show only the bare minimum of stores being closed etc.) Also by the end of the game I actually hated Fang. Through the entire story she only cares about the band and doesn't accept that her friends have other interests. I was really hoping the end of the story would be Fang learning to let go and finally realising you can't stop other people in your life from growing and changing but NOPE! She gets everything she wanted on a silver platter as her friends drop everything just do this show with her. Fang just seemed so incredibly spoiled and selfish... Also the amount of bugs I encountered, animation glitches, dialogue not finishing or not playing at all... Like I would think a game that received 1.5 mil from the Canadian Gov would be more polished... ( yes Goodbye Vulcano High was brought to you by canadian tax payres lol)
Holy... Everyone is praising this game? Dude, where the hell do you go, all I see are hate or disappointment in this game and small samples of praise. This game is awful no matter from what angle, because it fails in all parts of being a game, and specially a character drive story.
I watched YMS's playthrough of the game. It was also really weird and railroady because there was no failstate for missing the notes, nothing 'bad' happened as a result. They always succeed at getting into Calderafest and they always successfully play their songs. Snoot game had 4 endings, with 2 of them being explicitly bad and 1 of them being nebulously bad--the fourth one being the 'best' ending where Fang keeps some aspects of her nonbinary identity but goes into the world as her own person, rejoining anon on her own terms. This game not even having a failstate makes it basically a walking simulator but the characters aren't even that distinct.
So basically, they all were friends, then not become friends then Ray become friends, then didn’t then did it again then had a big concert at the end, and all died or mess or whatever. Soooo that basically sums up that yeah thank God I’m not play that.
dude i just wish this game was better i love this format of a visual novel rather than just boring text and i also find the art style really good but like dude.

It really seems like this was a nice story with a few very well done moments, that was being worked against in almost every possible way by BEING a game. Like. Why was this a game? Why wasn't this just a visual novel? The passage of time was so wonky i genuinely forgot it was supposed to have taken place over the course of 8 months, thought it was like a month or two, and my biggest question was how they got back into playing music with so little practice XD
I didn't play this because lol $30. But I watched 2 separate lets plays of it. Game looks boring af, choices don't seem to matter, like it seemed the only times you could make a choice was during the texting sessions, and the LnL games. And the choices are surface level at best. But the game has good music. Reed is probably the best character in the game. I disagree with your opinion on Stella's design. I think it's fine...for the most part. Is it just because she's fat or something? The first pass is the same design but thinner. Also have to take into account whatever design they make has to work at different angles. Which I don't think they did. If nothing else, I'd say her head shape/face and weird (why would the school allow this) lack of shoes are my biggest problems with Stella's look.
I say with GVH STella most unappealing part is her voice... She sounds like 40 year old whine mom, pretending to be an adolescent. Also depending on the view, he designs really itches you the wrong way.
GBVH Is a story that tells the player one thing. Your choices don't matter. The end is always there and there is nothing you can do to influence it. Meteor Dodgers. Having Jobs. Pick one and Only one.
Honestly, the game would have been better if it had multiple endings. I’ve actually come up with 4 Alternative endings on how the story should have ended based on your choices and actions. 1.) Alone (Worst Ending): Fang dies alone after failing to learn to value the life they've lived with their friends. 2.) Betrayed (Bad Ending): Fang's rich friend (decided to add a rich friend) tells them that their family is leaving for a place called "The Sanctuary"; a government bunker project where the "privileged few and genetically strong" survive, to survive and tells Fang off after their mistreatment towards them (Fang has the option to treat the rich friend with respect or be rude to them due to their higher status, however, the rich friend is extremely nice) and leaves Fang to die. 3.) Asteroid (Neutral Ending): Fang and their friends perform at their concert and celebrate their last minutes alive before the asteroid hits the Earth. This is simply the ending we get in the game. 4.) Sanctuary (Good Ending): Fang's rich friend tells them that their family is leaving for "The Sanctuary" to survive and invites Fang to come with them after treating them well. This ending has 2 paths. The 1st one is where Fang accepts the offer and says goodbye to everyone without telling them the truth, except for their brother Naser and their parents. While hesitant, both Naser and their parents tell them to take the chance so Fang can be the "legacy" of Caldera Bay. The 2nd is where you decline it and decide to give the chance of survival to someone else (such as Naser or Fangs friends). Depending on Fang's interaction with every one of them, they can learn that some still had plans for the future (Naser, Naomi, and Sage) while others have accepted their fate (Reed, Trish, Rosa, and Stella). Your choice to give one of these characters a chance to survive would heavily affect their relationship with you, whether it's good or bad. 5.) Rage Rex aka Dino Mad Max (True Ending): Fang decides to spend her last moments with her friends just as the asteroid hits. However, the government decided to launch a nuke at the Asteroid, which scattered it to pieces. This, however, made the problem worse as the scattered pieces of the asteroid struck many places, including Caldera Boy. Fang and their friends take cover as a piece of the asteroid hits Caldera Bay. A time skip occurs showing the effects of the meteor, which left Pangea and its cities in a deserted wasteland. An apocalyptic-styled van approaches a stream of water with blades of grass emerging from the side. A mysterious hooded figure unmasks themselves revealing an adult Fang with their friends alongside them. They look ahead and wonder where the future will take them. So far, what do you think and which ending is your favorite from this list?
Oof. FF7's ending is one that I consider the worst of all time. At that time, FF games had full endings that ran forever and let you know what happened to practically everyone. It was like the reward for the brutal boss fight. FF7 had a boss who I killed in two summons and an ending that left me irritated with it's vagueness, like nothing had mattered at all. GVH at least seemed to want you to believe everyone died - dinosaurs and asteroids after all - but it still has that unsatisfactory feeling.

GVH at least seemed to want you to believe everyone died - dinosaurs and asteroids after all - but it still has that unsatisfactory feeling.
i want Nick to abuse me
Bro same. Who doesn’t love tall goth Dino tomboys?
LJ MENTIONED WE'RE SO BACK LJ BROS !!!
Me asf when I just torrented the game instead of paying full price even during a discount.
Because a lot of the game isn't interactive and there isn't much choice you can make, it makes me wonder if it would've worked better as a movie.
Hope you make sum wani hug gator shitposts, good stuff
is it beating a dead horse to point out the game and its dev studoi KO_OP are affiliated with Sweet Baby Inc?
No... That actually helps explain some of the terrible dialogue and terrible pacing.
I hope your playthroughs of Katawa Shoujo/I Wani are enjoyable enough to cleanse you of the insipid tumblr dinosaurs. Hoping to see reviews of those two vn's as well!
Edit: Wait, holy shit, are you the author of Bad Apple? The Stella and Anon fanfic? That was my first Snoot Game fanfic and I read all 12 chapters in a single night! Your writing left me sleepless dude, and that's coming from a creative writing major who finds a lot of books utterly boring.
You earned yourself a subscriber just for that!
Thank you! I still gotta play through Katawa Shoujo but you can expect a video of Wani at some point! And thank you, that honestly means so much to hear that! It’s been an absolute blast writing and I’m looking forward to use the knowledge I gained from that on other future stories as well as working on the Bad Apple mod adaptation
Ah yes $30 for a 1 ending novel which is just chalk full of DnD or $0 for a quad ending vis novel where decsions actualy change outcomes. Wonder which one is better?
Wait it was 8 months? I thought it was 2 weeks 😭
Say was the girl who did the voices your sister or something? Just curious.
Which voices do you mean? But in this video I did all of the voices xD
@@Umbruhh The video where you compared the goodbye volcano high characters with snoot game.
@@justinambru8529 I did the voices for Rosa, Stella, and GVH Naomi! (sorry for the late reply)
@@Umbruhh Yeah I didn't properly read the description at the time. You really know how to do a girl's voice.
Gvh was doomed to fail
That is why snoot game was born to save what was good in gvh and making rest
banger
Well we know sweetbaby production made this game so you know it has a bad track record of good games.
Tidy your room young man!
But I heard the more messy my room is, the more views I get!
At least that's what I assume is the case with Asmongold lol
@Umbruhh who?
Whatever, whoever your imaginary friend is I'm sure if you keep your room nice and tidy you'll get a lot more followers! They'll be like "Ere, you see that Umbruhh bloke, got a nice tidy room 'e 'as!, cor maybe if I tidy my room I' ll be as popular as 'Im !"
GVH isn't even fun to make fun of tbh, it's so unbelievably boring :/ snoot game seems better but I feel like making Fang cis is a bit strange, the problem with GVH isn't that there's lgbt characters and themes the problem is that the story is boring and dry and not well written. Other than that good video 💪
(and also, HR probably stands for Heyuannia Resources since it’s Dino Land. I made that up tho :P)
Hug the gator, you know you want to.
Way ahead of you there ;)
@@Umbruhh I knew you would
