So we need some sort of watercooled vinyl record? Perhaps playing the record "wet" would have gained some different result. Time to check out.

Wouldn't the stylus also wear from all of this playtime? Did you replace the stylus, too?
Yes we also checked the stylus after each test under the scope, and cleaned it several times in between - it was still ok!
