Soooo lol while Alex was speaking about the power of prayer, I paused the sermon to ask my wife to pray with me. And as I prayed the about receiving power from on high to help us when distractions arise and the whole time my wife is flirting with me. When we finally finished praying, she looked up at me sheepishly and said sorry for the distraction. Lolololol but I pray in Spanish with my wife because she doesn't know English yet...such a blessing you two are and all of your babies to me and my wife...our house is blessed for the words of OUR KING through You two...SHALOM we are Messianc Jews who live in Louisville, ky

Living more distracted for me is being more intentional with my free time and choosing to spend more time in prayer, watching sermons, and in worship rather than scrolling or busy work.

same, yes Alex ( I am assuming that it your name). living less distracted for me is choosing to commit to times of prayer and worship and removing job opportunities that take away from prayer, worship, Bible study and potential Bible study with my sister on Saturday mornings.

I also loved what Alex said but I also thought we must start rebuking when these distractions start to plague us for we know this is a tactic used by the enemy!

watch your stuff very often, love how you break things down simply... reminds me of simple faith of children. I have been in seminary for a few years now and find myself exhausted in the pursuit of knowing more and needing to return to simple faith. For that, I thank you! I also wanted to suggest that I would love to watch a video at some point if you guys break down any gear you guys use, recording/uploading process from the stand point of a ministry. Would be super helpful to know, especially for those who want to but kinda dont know where to start! :)

I listened to you guys the first time today, I have actually been called out and separated from my life of distraction and brought back to my childhood home town where I first believed in Jesus and baptized and then quickly distracted losses and traumas followed within a year I wandered off so far running from guilt and shame a less than joyful loving marriage at a young age because of distraction and lack of mentoring but he never let go of me he drew me back in and brought me back to where my child like faith started after traveling the entire us distracted and chasing wrong things. Now I have slowed down my pace of life drastically I have little distraction which that seems so foreign to me now that it's taking adjustments but not a day passes that I don't read his word and pray and times I don't know what to pray and my spirit does seem to groan. Been to churches that talk politics...not for me some too much tradition not so much for me either. But I'm interested in house church prayer and family like love and committed to christ Jesus would be so good. I have made several friends in the faith committed in this small town and I still just want time to be alone and I long to reach others outside the walls of church because church didn't seem to work for them because of some of the things you mentioned idk. Just waiting and thirsting for the Lord and to bring others in to his marvelous light through the gifts and means he provides for me.

I can live less distracted by looking at God for who He is, always present wherever i go... I often think of that friend that faithfully follows you everywhere and gets you out of trouble.... yet we seem to ignore his presence and goodness.
How can we ignore someone that is with us wherever we go and loves us like nobody else can nor will ever do??? What best can i do than give God all my attention intentionally, and talk to Him throughout the day?? Can start small and see the relationship grow and bloom like beautiful flowers in Spring do!!

I just recently saw on Instagram a post that said "If the devil can't make you sin he'll make you busy" And that's basically been me. I too get really distracted in prayer especially when there's so many practical life things going on with our kids and work etc. where I don't just sit at Jesus's feet and talk because He listens always. Very good episode!

To live less distracted in my personal life means how to set aside the time I have for myself for more time in prayer and devotion to God. I know deep down in my heart that I give a lot more time as a 28 year old male towards video games and online social media. I believe if I were to do less of these type of things I can keep my focus on the important things the Holy Spirit is showing me in my life!

I can really relate to what Lokelani was saying. I to sometimes rush through prayer or my bible reading. Because I think I have to get something done.
That is something I will be working on.
Thanks for reminding me what true Christianity is like.

This was such a wonderful message on Prayer and it really helped me see how important it is to get rid of the distractions in my life. Trusting in God fully means having that connection building a relationship through prayer. What a blessing to see a husband leading his family and a wife supporting him, so inspiring I really love Amen Podcast and I will definitely be supporting your videos

I think i could be less distracted if had a more organized life. I'm living all over the place right now, regarding my time, and also I'm going through a lot of stress in my daily life and i just try to get distracted from all of that cause it's too much going on at the same time. My mind starts to flee away sometimes, im in the midst of doing something and the i look at a point and stare away. I get distracted with my phone, with my own thoughts, with my mind going blanck with no thoughts. It's a rollercoaster 😂
I think it's mainly burnout and my brain is trying to cope with it. I know that some distractions are not good like mindless scrolling, it's just I'm trying to NOT think so much.

I’m grateful for this thought-provoking conversation at 31:51 Alex talks about doing things with no meaning. This raises the question in me, what are your thoughts on secular movies or tv shows?

    • @Gomlie1970
      @Gomlie1970 21 วันที่ผ่านมา

secular that doesn’t not bring you to the feet of Jesus. It’s a distraction.
Watch bible stories and listen to testimonies from believers that charge up your faith. Read your Bible and listen to gospel music.
