If you are slowly building an audience through a blog, podcast, or TH-cam channel but have yet to make good money from it, you might not be monetizing the right way (or at all).
While there are a lot of ways to make a living online, I find that most bloggers, podcasters, and TH-camrs who make a full time living use one (or all) of these 6 core monetization models.
That's right - there are 6 ways to make money with your online audience and today I want to break down all of them so you can decide which one(s) is right for you!

Graham you're Godsent. Through your messaging I felt permission to let go of IG and FB and focus on my TH-cam channel. Which is what I felt led to do for so long but was too afraid to. It has been 2 months now and I'm yet to feel an pull to return.
I always wanted to create content that was searchable and can be found when someone needs it. I didn't enjoy the social media model. Thank you for speaking your heart.
Ps. I also signed up to Kajabi through you, and I'm so glad I took the plunge.

Great episode! Digital products is currently our only revenue stream. Will definitely be exploring the other monetisation methods. Thanks!

I love Brian Regan! I'm thinking Patreon is gonna be my best bet for now, but I'm hoping to have a product of some kind.

I'm in the embryo stage of just thinking of how to build an audience before any of this :-) Of your 6 ways, what interests me most is scaling with digital products. Thanks for what you give, Graham. (I'm a songwriter who is a VIP member of yours and an EP Release customer of your collab with ILL Factor.)

Another great video, Graham! I am actually doing most of these (not Patreon, not my thing); just start monetizing on TH-cam after many years! Products is my main one (9 books far and another book series coming out this year); I’m working on online courses, so that will be next. I LOVE Bryan Reagan, great reference. Thanks!

Hey brother, I watched the WHOLE video again LOL, so clear and authentic, appreciate you. And yeah I see your name on the top of the Kajabi partners all the time, you're doing amazing!
SO I'm transitioning out of services, been doing coaching and consulting for 20 years, high end, and all that but I'm just done. I'm moving into my next iteration of expression and business. I have TONS of wisdom from all that experience and a deep dive in to self development for all those years as well.
You'll appreciate this since you're into music and I would love your input.
My ideal biz vision is TH-cam Show, Podcast (as the platform), then Merch, Membership, (ideally Patreon), and digital products.
Here's the rub, I'm more of an artist/entertainer and voice of empowerment/messenger. I do music, comedy, spoken word, storytelling, etc, I have epic relationships so get great guests for conversations on the podcast.
The TH-cam show new version is going to be a variety show as the main show and personal vlog/sharing channel.
I am NOT a how to guy, info marketer, or problem solver, I'm more of a inspirational/empowering/entertainer like I said who just so happens to have a lot to share around self development, spiritual growth, creativity, self expression, owning your voice etc.
If I DON'T want to make "courses" i.e. modules, how to etc, what kind of digital products do you think would work as an offshoot to my personal artist/entertainer brand as well as helping empower people too?
I know I can sell music and spoken word, etc and I'm thinking cool, poetic, wisdom and humor based products as the digital.
I'm so programmed from our industry, especially in Kajabi that everything needs to be a how to and problem solved and it just doesn't resonate with me and my soul. I always listen to my heart, I know you get that.
Any thoughts and wisdom around products that still add value without having to be the how to guy?
As an example do you know Danielle LaPorte? Super cool, poetic, shares spiritual truth and wisdom in a total, bad ass and artistic way.
I think in my mind is that you have to have the $500-$2K products to make a great living vs the $10, $15, $25, and $47 etc.
Thanks man, really appreciate you and all you do!

Thanks for the encouragement and support! Love your vision for this next season in your career. And I totally understand your desire to do more motivational than how-to content. I would argue that digital courses still make sense for you. Much like Tony Robbins encourages and empowers and does it through educational content (books, talks, videos) you could do the same. The content might not be as tactical as some but if laid out strategically it could help people see transformation.

      @@GrahamCochrane My pleasure brother!
And thank you for your focus and commitment to your brand and your audience!, appreciate the feedback and support.
It would be super artistic and entertaining too, not just inspirational or motivational, but I hear you.
PS: Are you a fan of creating your digital product(s) early on in your journey or waiting to build your audience?
I have a descent social media following of around 75K but it's a bit scattered and a small email list.
I'm entering TH-cam and Podcast next for my main content platform, and like all of us, having income sooner than later is a GOOD thing.
I know some people just start with products and build their funnels, I like content attraction and value add way more than that, but willing to toss some of that in if necessary to jump start things.
      Thoughts and wisdom?

Hi Graham, I hope all is well with you. What is your set up? Is the mic connected to your laptop? I'm sorry if somewhere in your channel is this info. I'll dig a bit after ... Is the mic connected directly into your camera? What kind of camera? Is the mic run through some other audio thingy which I do not know the name of? Thank you!! UPDATE: found it! Thanks.

Hi Graham! Great content as always. Just dropping by with the hope to get the confidence level you have in front of the camera. I have tried speaking with large crowds but when I speak in front of the camera, I tend to lose my line of thought and stutter.
Also, may I ask how you are able to use a subdirectory URL to redirect to your Kajabi affiliate link?
    Thanks and God bless!

    • @GrahamCochrane
      @GrahamCochrane  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Definitely plan on doing a video on this topic (energy on camera). To your Kajabi question - I simply create a page in Kajabi with that custom URL and then have a button on that page that links to my affiliate link.

How does one go about getting to the right to use copyrighted movie or TV footage in their vlog videos to be shown on their TH-cam or Facebook pages? (as seen on "Movies with Mikey") Thank you

    • @GrahamCochrane
      @GrahamCochrane  4 ปีที่แล้ว

Usually you can use copyrighted material in your videos as long as you don't monetize them. OR if you do then you will have to split the ad revenue with the copyright holder.

What is a good goal for my first year on TH-cam? I started in February and have 22 subscribers and like 20 videos. one of my videos almost has 1000 views. Homestly, I don’t know what my goals should be for the first year.

Great question! I should do a video on this. I honestly wouldn't worry about numbers in year one. I would worry about trying different video topics to see which ones pick up steam.
