People can't comprehend how this game was ahead of it's time. It's ridiculous. The game play was the mold for many shooters and this retains one of THE BEST shooter ever made.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this guy? I currently have an aegis level 16 scorch and I know how long it took for me to grind that out. But here we have someone who has done it for all the titans!? Epic.
When I was watching this I decided to play my first FD match and play as Northstar but thats when I never knew about aegis upgrades and I was so confused why I can't use two traps and why my charge was so slow on the railgun and why I only shot one cluster instead of two, but I soon maxed out Northstar and I got all the upgrades after using it a lot now I'm happy😁
This video made me want to try out Northstar, so far it has been extremely satisfying to hear the build up of the rail gun followed by the neuron activation of a loud noise and a big chunk of enemy hp being gone
shes a very good a assassin titan like ronin if theres a mortor titan on the other side of the map the heavy hitters like scorch, legion, ronin dont have to go over there and risk the enemies getting to close to the harvester because your guaranteed to be the first ro fire when dealing with that enemy and your shots recharge so fast and if you placed a trap or a smoke those do addition damage and/or keep the mortar titan stuck from going into mortar mode. the northstar gameplay is so fun in frontier defense man
Since I started TF2 I've been awful with semi-automatics. Recently I started FD with Northstar, now at aegis 11, I can say I'm in love. Coming from maining Legion, it was a big change, but she's awesome. Patience and preparation are rewarded. She's de doom of nukes. Edit: Threat scope is the best pack for FD. Let's you see through smoke and you can just stay by the Harvester sniping titans and Stalkers all across the map, this applies to Homestead specially but also Forward Base Kodai. On other maps you have to be more dynamic. Blackwater, is tough for such a long shot, but very doable. You can either stay on the open outside areas or use the inner corridors with traps and missiles to maximize the AoE of these. Angel city can be punishing but it still has open spaces to snipe and run, plus it's pretty low so VTOL can give an edge. Then, War Games is though. You have 3 main areas of control; ONE the left of the Harvester, open but tricky to snipe bcz obstacles. TWO the central corridor where smaller units and arc titans tend to come from, cover it with traps and use the turrets. THREE the right corridor that's perfect for Stalkers. You can very easily wait for the red blobs to peak from that corner and hit those sweet criticals. Plus, traps help a lot too. To finish, I don't remember playing Colony on FD, but it's very similar to Angel city, with more open spaces and chances to land criticals from the other side of the map. Use threat scope people, it's REALLY useful in FD.
@Keith Marshall It would be cool to play together. I fancy threatscope because I can see through smoke and clean the incoming danger from a safe distance, without ever losing my target. True. If I'm single-shooting them, I may be fine-tuning my aim. Otherwise, aggressiveness has it's flaws. Like pre-stepping on a pod just to have forgotten it could be little Mr. Explosions that hurt...
Tis appreciated! I haven't r97'd a round in a while. Worth it! I just wish I didn't do this match from a cold start... Didn't warm-up until about the 3rd round.
On maps like canal and Rise Northstar is easily the best defensive titan because you have penetrating projectile then you can defend that Harvester harder than the Soviets defended Stalingrad
Something about northstar I never see anyone do is use dual traps (2 traps per charge), You can literally stop a small army with them in frontier defense

There are spurts where the servers are working perfectly fine. Check in here and there (each day or so or however...) and it does work from time to time. No guarantees of course..

god damn it, why don't u take out the cloak drones before u start attacking the grunts :/, also how come u don't use devotion or spitfire. Those 2 guns have the most magazine capacity and really good fire rate. I understand using the R-97 but it doesn't have the near magazine capacity of the devotion and spitfire. In addition, using thunderbolt is better than the archer rockets because the thunderbolt can charge back ur titan insanely quickly especially with the titan hunter kit on the pilot.

Yep! If you are having trouble landing your shots, you can use the drag-shot method until your accuracy can be improved. Charge the rail and drag the weapon towards what you want to shoot and "hair-trigger" as soon as the name/enemy pops up (you will likely finish the shot with your gun past your target). Use Tethers before smoke and cluster or you will destroy your Tether. Cluster the feet of the enemy unless you are sure you will hit the target (usually it's better to cluster their feet anyways). Hover only for peek shots or, in the rarer and less effective case, to evade by going over the enemy. Your core is practically useless and exposes you to a lot of damage potential but can be effective. (use sparingly might be best). I'd suggest using the nuke in FD, but use what you want. Another cluster item that I don't see many using is to cluster the wall of an expected path the drones take (works VERY well). With ANY Titan - If you are in a bad situation and need a few seconds of no damage, DO AN EXECUTION! It matters sometimes and gives you temporary invincibility during the execution.
Traps...traps everywhere... No seriously abuse the holy bejeezus out of them. Use the two per drop kit and once you couple that with the traps aegis upgrade...omg. In any case you should be dropping them in lanes, intersections, enemy titan drop points, choke points...you get the idea. Turbo: Love it, embrace it. I play a very mobile support role and with that third dash + vtol im zipping around the back of the map adding chunk/cluster damage wherever there is the most pressure. Not to mention getting out of trouble if necessary. Cover is your second best friend. A Legion who knows what the hell they are doing is your first and very bestest friend EVER; and you should be supporting them as much as possible as they are (hopefully) anchoring your defense. For me personally i never buy more than a battery between rounds, if I need it, and deposit the rest for the team. They will appreciate it and it makes the team stronger as a whole. Crits are succulent and juicy and delicious and you should be ramming them down the throat of anything unlucky enough to enter your cross hairs. Repeatedly. Lastly please understand that teamwork is absolutely VITAL to winning, especially in higher difficulties. No matter what titan you are in, play the objective. This isn't about k/d, this isn't about " but...but muh kills!". Save that for pvp.

In order for me to apply the Frontier Defense skin, I have to select the standard one. However, I do have the random execution selected.
