    First Lego pneumatic mechanism in this video sounding like a sick beat

    That pneumatic valve control was basically Walschaerts valve gear

      Not quite- the point of the valve gear is to change the timing of the engine to run in reverse

      Well never was so often I've dozed off accidentally while watching TH-cam so could in theory be any video you can fall asleep watching actually I've woken up and it's still going few videos later sometimes yep it will happen but I know where you're going in terms of falling asleep to something I think this is mentioned by others as well not surprising this has also been mentioned on big lives Channel about his voice is soothing and stuff too so yeah could happen for sure even if accidentally in some cases

    I don't know why anyone else has not said this as of yet so far !
    The pick and place portion of this video.
    Looks like a good start for a GBC module AKA Great Ball Contraption module for sure it wouldn't take many more parts to actually have it function as one not to mention already had a Lego ball there in the first place all you have to do is really have a part protruding to knock it off that one end and the other end trigger a gate or something to allow one single ball to drop in perhaps have a bunch of those running in parallel and something like the previous model of the pneumatic controller there you go you got part of the Lego Great Ball Contraption module or even a bunch of those just handing a ball down a line all with different timing so that all front of different rates maybe had many figures and decoration here and there sturdy base and Chassis.
    Also any info on source of compressed area you're using it seems pretty solid in terms of available pressure and volume of air.
    Not sure if using Lego on that end but either way would be interested trying to find a way to economically have compressed air for Lego models eventually without noisy expensive and a lot of power usage for a air compressor unfortunately only have one 15 amp circuit available in that area of the place and heavily loaded as it is

    • @redshoebox
      @redshoebox  ปีที่แล้ว

      In the video, I was using a LEGO hand pump. A XL motor powering a few LEGO pumps will work too, but if you are going to have several pneumatic components, LEGO compressors will probably be too weak.

    • @aaronbrandenburg2441
      @aaronbrandenburg2441 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@redshoebox thanks it seemed like there's just a much higher volume of air in more consistent than just using a Lego setup for the source of compressed air I'm thinking the wonderlands of something electrically operated just to provide the source of compressed air at at least the maximum pressure for Lego pneumatics around 50 psi but the problem is volume of air in some cases as in number of human feet per minute I have some ideas for the future that may require a heck of a lot of volume of air that might seem Overkill but in the long run would be better have some ideas that I don't think I've ever been done but are very feasible with other deadly source of air all 100% Lego I don't think a lot of air sources would be able to keep up without keeping up the pressure.
      Some of these almost equivalent to literally an open end of a Lego pneumatic hose or close to it possibly multiple ones at once.
      And not just a single hose feeding things because of the sheer volume of air someone actually need multiple pneumatic hoses to feed from the air source from some sort of distribution block or splitters they're doing that customer would not be a problem for that portion either.
      Looking to have something in a very compact box also would need to be quite quiet and low current draw.
      I don't think I set up with a refrigeration compressor would do this effectively because of low volume of air being pumped.
      Had considered even air tank but it's so variable of what I'd be doing that it will be hard to actually know for sure and not waste money and time trying to do something that wouldn't work for me.
      Unfortunately where I'm set up right now to do this and potentially anytime near future won't be able to do exactly Drive full size compressor alone the noise don't think like using an air bottle or CO2 would be an option either and yeah of course there'd be regular and all topper safety devices and so on not good idea otherwise to mess around with anything high pressure as well as it's also the safety concerned if using the stored compressed air or even nitrogen or CO2 as well as in the long run some sort of compressor with me the way to go piece of expense and useful for other things

    You need to make an instruction book. I loved this video..

    • @aaronbrandenburg2441
      @aaronbrandenburg2441 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are books out there on all kinds of mechanisms that were written back in the day you might find something through Google Books might be more interesting than what you might find in nowadays could really be almost a coffee table book for the right person if you know what I'm saying.
      But yeah someone should do some sort of reference book for mechanisms in Lego I'm not talking like the no start for us books but actually more for someone that be more like an engineering but be into Lego if it gets the point across hard to say exactly the best way to describe this sorry bit of word vomit it happens
