Omg thank you! I really needed a one cushion escape technique. I knew about the parallel shift for two cushion escape but now I'm gonna slay the one cushion escape also. Many thanks.

Hi mick enjoyed you getting out of them snookers more so potting them that’s why your regard as the best or 1 of them us mortals will be glad just to hit the right ball
Wow I need to try this out. Thats why I regard you one of the greatest in UK standards of pool. I hope you can play the pool players here in South Africa.
@@mickthemachinehill awesome sir that will be fantastic. Thanks, I tried this out and it actually works just need to find a way not to mark the table with chalk so I know where to shoot.
Thanks for this . I have been using the visual and feel method with good success. I think this will help me hit even more accurate. When you make these kick shots eyes enlarge and jaws drop. Love hearing the oos and ahs
Thanks again Mick, that's nice and clear. With the one cushion escape, would you apply a wee bit of running side like you would for the two or three cushion escape? I guess pace would also factor into the one cushion escape, much like it does with a double?
Hi Mick, excellent video. For 2 rail kicks, I heard it's different if the cue ball is hitting the long rail first. This works mostly for when cue ball hits short rail first. Or am I misinformed?
please see my other videos on the parallel shift where I explain: Part 1: th-cam.com/video/QsPsiyMaLr8/w-d-xo.html Part 2: th-cam.com/video/TGg0J5t4-hA/w-d-xo.html
@@havesomegratitudehey I tried it earlier and it works on the one cushion escape, I'm not sure if it works on the 2 cushion version though, would love to know
Hi Mick what if I need to hit the 8 ball half ball to send the cue ball up the other end of the table - hit the black and play a safety at the same time?
Well mick, any advice on buying a cue ? My cue action isn’t the best these days so not sure what tip size to go with, any advice? Looking for a decent 1 too,
cracking video Mick, thank you. just a quick one, when you line up the one cushion escape through the 8 ball, what point of the cushion nearest you do you use to go through the black, or is it the middle pocket you use?
I just watched the video and had the same question, because if you start off wrong, you'll miss. At 02:57 when there's a line from the far cush to the black, I extended the line with a ruler, and it more-or-less hits the middle pocket, on the low side maybe. Love to hear from Mick on this point, because it seems a foolproof technique. (I will also test it myself in practice).
The second example in the video at 03:20 the lining up behind the black is not from the pocket, so I remain uncertain where you start behind the 8-ball. Surely a very important thing to know, hopefully Mick will be kind enough to reply to your comment, or mine.
Mick, if you hit the white with more power does it change the angle when you come of the cushion? And will that affect whether you hit the snookered ball?
Just wondering why you are lining the balls up the table when setting up these examples. Does the method work best when the balls are in these positions?
The table I play on has weird cushions you cant play that on those, my god ive tried, but I can do bank shots in the Clariey as its a much better table and the cushions are true and the table is much warmer and the throw is less when playing with spin, but I like that dead pot you made to leave a simple black ball
Hi Mick, Got a question. Any tips for when you have to parallel shift a longer distance. For example when the distance between the cue ball and object ball are far apart like 4 or 5 diamonds, that parallel shift now hast to move so much further and it's easy to be off an inch or 1.5 inch which translates to 2 or 3 inches when bouncing of the rail and going towards the target? I seem to just barely miss it more than 60-70% of the time.
Just look at the angle your cue makes at the cushion. 30 degree or 12 degree. Then replicate that angle at the whiteball. You can drag your cue up the cushion if it helps. You can also use the rail bead and the outer partof the table if you wish. Look at the angle there and recreate it at the white
So that's why I see pool players doing that with their cue sticks , your never too old to learn something new for my self I just study the path where the cue ball has to go to make that shot . I remember years ago I was playing snooker with my bud , I fluke a red ball into the corner pocket and I was hook and of course my bud was laughing about it , all the color balls was on the spots , so I step back to take a good look how to get out of the hook , For being a short ass I had to use the long rest , the cue ball was about 1 inch away from the right corner pocket , I had to stand at the left side of the side of the table , it was a very long shot to hit the cue ball , so I called 5 rails to hit the yellow ball , once more my bud laughs at me , I had to hit the cue ball to hit the the 2 rails just around the corner pocket , the cue ball hit the other 3 rails as plan and just had enough power to roll up behind the yellow ball to make contact , with a big smile on my face and I said to my bud , its your shot asshole . For what I did , that takes years of experience and that cant be taught . People always said about me that I have eyes just like a eagle . By the way Mick you make a very good teacher . You should try to get involved with younger kids interested in playing pool for many of reasons
Anyone able to demonstrate what they're explaining has my undivided attention. Cheers Mick.

Works on good tables, the table I play on depends on how hard you hit the white ball, yes the cushions I play on are rubbish lol

Great technique guess now I have some method of getting out of snookers on both American and Chinese tables😂

Just wondering why you are lining the balls up the table when setting up these examples. Does the method work best when the balls are in these positions?
