- Journey from Bangkok to Siem Reap by Bus + First Impressions
Hey everyone! Join Sinead and I as we travel from Bangkok to Siem Reap, Cambodia, with Giant Ibis Bus Company. They really took care of us, making the journey super comfortable and hassle-free.
Bangkok to Siem Reap with Giant Ibis
Our journey was smooth and cozy, thanks to Giant Ibis. They even sorted out our visas! The visa on arrival was $30, and for an extra $10, they handled all the paperwork for us - no photo needed.
Arriving in Siem Reap
When we arrived, tuk-tuk drivers were ready to offer us rides to our accommodations. They accepted Thai Baht, English Pounds, US Dollars, Australian Dollars, or Euros, which made things really convenient.
Accommodation Mishap
Unfortunately, when I got to my booked hostel, 'The Big Easy' I found out it had shut down two nights ago! Thankfully, Sinead's hotel had a spare room, so I stayed there.
First Impressions of Siem Reap
My first impressions of Siem Reap are really positive. I'm planning to stay for a while and will do more in-depth videos of the area soon.

I love Siem Reap
Oh yes me too I have definitely found a wonderful place, in Siem Reap.
Great video, loved the bus, very nice.
Wow very impressed you ate the bug . Maybe snake wine next ?????
Thanks for sharing....
lol 😂 keep watching 👀 some more questionable food choices will be on there way 🤪
Like the new hair dew😊 trip looks like fun so far! How long did it take to cross the border?
It was about 8 hours but extremely comfortable. Highly recommend. 😊
Very nice upload 👍👍very nice 🏙🌆 Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ Your videos are absolutely amazing. ♥🔔❤
Thank you so very much that’s so kind. I do put a lot of time into them. I’m not the fastest at editing. I just make them so my children and grandchildren have something to share and watch after I’m gone. Maybe one day one of them will travel to some of the places I have been. That would be so cool. Thanks for watching 🥰
I spotted an elephant statue......you had to share that for me.......then you ate creepy crawlies....and then you reverted to your old talents...."Hairdressing" ..hugs stay safe stay strong.....
I had had a few rum and Cokes before I ate the bug. It was ok until I got to the middle part 🤢🤣
Omg, I have a “good “ memory from that covered bridge in the centre. I had my eyeglasses as a headband and when I looked down over to the water,it fell off from my head. My Cambodian tuktuk driver dived into the dirty water to try to retrieved it to no avail! That’s why I can say that they are the loveliest people!! Btw,how long was the travel by bus from Bangkok to Cambodia? I might want to do it coz I love being on long rides and see the local scenery!😊
Awwwwww bless him how kind yes definitely the most friendly people I have met. It was about 8 hours I believe? It was the best bus trip I’ve done so far. 🥰
@@nanwithabackpackok,perfect ! Thank you and keep on vlogging!
Hair looking good 👍
Thanks 🙏
OMG.. the street light is just as good as the one in Putrajaya or Johor Bharu.. Nan.. I hope you will go to Sumatra after this..
It’s not on my current list but will definitely check it out and add to my future plans. I have just done a quick google search and wow it looks amazing 🥰 thanks for mentioning as I love receiving recommendations. ☺️
Domestic busses in Thailand nowadays are often more luxurious than western busses and they stop for food and wc many times on longer trips.
And its CHEAP;)
Yes it was a fantastic bus trip. Highly recommended.
Trust you to find Pub Street 😂 x x
Hahaha 🤪 yes 🥃
Where do you book your Bus Rises madam? Thank you 🙏🏼
I booked this one through a website called 12goAsia

$10 for the company! You can do it yourself but when I was on a bus crossing into Cambodia and people tried to do that their bags got thrown off after the border and they got left behind!😳
Wow 😮 that’s harsh, leaving them behind!!!! We could do it ourselves but it was easier to let them deal with it. We went through so smoothly. A lady I met here who did it herself was held up for 4 hours as she made a small mistake on her paperwork.
@@nanwithabackpack Harsh but fair!🤣🤣🤣 I was with my friend and told her to be quiet and pay the extra. She was likely to have an opinion about it. 🤦♀️
Was there a toilet on the bus cheers 😂
No but they do make a few comfort stops. It was a really comfortable journey highly recommended.
