Loved Ben’s reaction when Arpit mentioned that Paxos feels relatively simpler to him 😅 47:35 … awesome insightful discussion btw!

Hahha. Had to trigger that reaction. I already know what he felt about Paxos and Raft.
Was hoping for slightly more animated, but this is what I got.

Most of the info that Ben shared in this pod is available in other pods as well, I don't see anything novel here , sorry if this offends u
Podcasts are becoming huge source of redundant information and untimately very less ROI for the viewer.
Podcasts are meant to be some sort of variation of interviews, and they too suffer from same problem. Watching multiple interviews don't help viewer get more info or insights.

That could be true. But, it helps in increasing the reach. You may have already been through Ben’s podcast before, however, a lot of folks could be listening to him for the first time.

    Hi Arpit,
These are some really cool videos. My request would be to throw some light on how to do database deployments at scale?
Let's say we're not using JPA for migrations but handling deployments separately. How to ensure that all the DB objects are deployed with some objects having inter dependency.

Loved the conversation and content. However it is hard to make out what Arpit is saying at multiple times in the video. Either the audio could use editing or he can take a bit longer to enunciate words clearly

      1. I was setting the context in most places
      2. I was elaborating for viewers sake
      3. I was keeping it more discussion and not some job interview where one asks one line question while other answers.
Ben spoke more than me, please do not exaggerate.

Heyy arpit can you please make a video on how to choose just one thing and master it. Like I want to learn Golang and then move to system design and in depth concepts for backends so can you please make a structured video for the same ? Would be great 😃

    • @AsliEngineering
      @AsliEngineering  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

There is no secret sauce. Just pick one and learn without getting distracted.
It is easy to be distracted with so much going around. But you really need to be focused on one and learning it from a single resource or at max two resources.
For example, I am so tempted to do and learn so many things right now, but I have parked all of them and putting my entire energy in learning concurrency in-and-out in Python.
Hope this helps. btw, the video would have been this one line :)

@@AsliEngineering sure Arpit thank you so much for this 😃 Will stick to golang and learn all the concepts.. also great videos from you, sir love it..

I understand and typically you do a great job while presenting by yourself but in podcast setting the delivery can not be same as if you are presenting by yourself. May be consider editing where by tightening the narrative in a way such that guest gets more space? Also one thing that really sets off listener is when host interrupts guest. Anyways, I think your channel has lot of potential and can do with presentation skills.
