Yea...I lack confidence therefore i pick routes im comfortable with...for safety. Maybe one day i will get to a more advanced level with my navigational skill and come back and do the more difficult route
I'm scared of shop assistants but I kinda like going off path and just finding my own way in the middle of nowhere. If you learn all the major hills and mountains you always 'kinda' know roughly where you are. But I'm local so I can do that.
OMG. I literally just stopped at that service station and bought a NC500 t-shirt 3 hours ago. My wife and I are at Gruinard Bay campsite if you want a cup of tea and a hot meal. Good luck. You are doing amazing.
Aww thank you. But i was there a week ago. I am on day 13 now. There is a few days delay before i can upload the videos cause it took a few hours tp edit, and theres not always phone signal to upload.
A nice safe day. I like the map shots; particularly the concluding shots where the camera was in focus!😵💫😉 I sometimes cross reference your commentary with Google Earth which is fun. Well done though Christina. Go well & go safely. Pete
Considering your level of map reading experience I think you were doing great. Very sensible to take the simpler route, especially if you were getting scared. Why play with danger? Enjoy yourself, finish the route and have a great holiday! I'm old school so use map and compass but I use my phones GPS and an Inreach mini as backup in case I get lost. You can use the inreach to locate where you are and show you on a map if you have a smartphone with the inreach app (amongst other ways). I have subscribed :)

Now she has good navigation skills, Bobo. A few mistakes early on the trail but she has learned from them.

All the path choices are nice today. Road, forest path, or treacherous scenic 2” wide trail are better choices than no path, no path, or no path bog!
