I really appreciate the honest review and opinions on this RTR. I bet you don’t get stuff for free like others because of it but PLEASE don’t change. The Stance is a pretty solid RTR. Thank heavens Redcat offered another good RTR option in their Fusion. Bad thing for me is once you experience the aftermarket equipment/parts and gain a little knowledge and courage building your own is a much better option. Let’s face it RTRs suck and always will because for some reason companies refuse to sell their stuff with options for buyers to have it upgraded when first purchased. However, RTRs is where I started and it’s where several others will as well, so it just makes sense to have decent RTRs. Thanks again sir for another good review
Yep! It’s hard to even drive an rtr sometimes after running custom builds. I do sometimes enjoy going back to them just because most lines become way easy with my custom trucks lol
Really enjoyed your review on the vanquish stance rtr. I don’t have one but watching your video and other videos of this rig I think it’s the best rtr crawler out the box just my opinion.
If in the future I decide to get a stance, it will definitely be a kit. The rtr is good but I know it can be way better. I have a scx10 pro kit to build first
Crawler canyon did a good video on it yesterday. The kit has like $350 in transmission chassis rails and gears alone. That being said the stance is a great grab and go or entry level truck. I’m torn between a vrd or building an f10 straight zoku or ierc
@JUSTHAVEFUNRC unless you want a vfd twin I would go carbon I have both and I love the zoku it's my 3 yearolds trail truck but I also 4 linked and did the vrd servo on axle mount on it but we had the pheonix already the value on the carbon is there
@@JUSTHAVEFUNRC I understand the burning in the back of your head thing I'm building a class 3 4ws with a vfd twin on a brazin Atlpro V2 and ssdlux portal front and Capra Rear becuase I've wanted a vfdtwin 4ws car for a year
Thanks for the vid! We can never get enough opinions out there from various points of views. The modulation issue comes from the stock esc being a hobbywing 1060. I wish they would have just adjusted to price to put a 1080 in there. At bulk, how much more could it have been you know? I mean look at what redcat did with the electronics at a very good price point! lol I agree the clearance is spectacular at the cost of lcg climb. Surprisingly, bent links seem to be a common occurrence with quite a few people as well. There have also been a few reports about breaking the F10's as well. The shocks are definitely leaky! Sooo many people have these issues with the shocks. The Vanquish response was more along the "your're doing it wrong". I guess more time will tell. I still appreciate the heck out of them for bringing this to the market and giving us an excellent rtr choice. Thanks for the vid and opinion. I can't wait for the heads up video to come!
Flip side of the aluminum slides is you can bend them back easy. Not so with plastic. One of those plus/minus things. Those up turned lips on the outer edge could stand to be a bit higher likely. Maybe a length of foam rubber on the inside of the skid, tight to the lip would help pinch the body in snug.
Still glad my FUSION is on its way, so many I think just don’t do redcat come on think outside the box, and it looks 10 times better, Then aswell comes down to how you gonna use it and where, the straight skids for most people wont be a problem how many crawlers that people have, have them
Great vid Matt! Yeah, that link bend is a pretty glaring oversight. They look 1/18th scale thickness! LOL! I was saying else where, I sure hope Redcat and now maybe Vanquish get into the SCX24 scale and show Axial how to do it. An Accent Fusion in that size would be WOW! I really think Axial and other micro 24th companies blew it. Seems like 1/18th's are taking over and I think it's in part due to SCX24's being closer to a toy. If they'd come out with an honest RTR SCX24 "Deluxe" version, 1/24th scale would get more folks in. Such a great scale as it's so portable and can crawl anywhere in or outdoors. I think folks that want to get into the hobby, but don't have the cash for double the dollars in aftermarket or are just interested in driving, not wrenching, would step up to get a micro 1/24th Accent Fusion. Fingers crossed. I doubt I'll ever buy an SCX24 again. I'll just go with a GT5 and receivers and build 1/24th's from the ground up. ........Off to Mom's for dry turkey and over cooked veg....... Happy Bunny Day to you and the Fam.
Stock tires are amazing, however, I switched to Treal rims with Proline Krawler & 2-stage inserts. Proline are smaller diameter and give up nothing. I hated the VT1 transmitter. Injora T6 is easy to adjust with better crawling and throttle/brake control. The Hobbywing ESC 1080 G2 is so much more refined. Really improved the Stance performance.
I love the proline krawlers with dual stage foams! For some reason my stock stance tires worked great the first couple times out but as they wore they got worse and worse lol. I think a tiny bit smaller tire really makes this truck perform much better. It sits a little high stock. It has plenty clearance in the belly so lowering it a bit makes it much better. That esc definitely had to go lol
Yeah that was nice, I love my Vanquish truck. Well it’s always Matt appreciate you sharing catch you on the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁😁👋👋😎
I'm so happy for you homeboy praise God this is so awesome I don't do a whole lot of 10 scale and I don't have nobody to do it with and you got to understand my circumstances I think I'm just going to buy one so when it's different it's different you know
I really enjoy my carbon with a fusion. I think the carbon kit is the way to go if you’re going to change all your electronics anyway especially because the carbon comes with several very good upgrades over the stance.
just put the hw fusion 1800. the tires after daily use for four weeks. tires are much softer now but feathered. bent the rear links by hand back to stock. adjusted epa and exp. took springs out. using 80wt oil. and used teflon tape on shocks and they are bone dry on the outside now. used to drip before. also relocated shocks and this thing is amazing with front brass rings. i regret not buying the kit (because my gf is yelling in my ear to chill out buying parts lol) but just get the kit. i wanted the experience of learning and the frustration of seeing what does and doesn’t work for me
lol i totally get that! The kit is definitely the way to go imo. I just bought the rtr to compare. Already got a fusion and some other stuff on the way for it! Gonna be a fun truck with a little work I’d say
Brazin makes a good chassis. Dsm have printed sliders. Get a revolver so you can do the stubby conversion. Tires are good but not the best. I prefer megalitics. I heard the Meus brass portal covers fit and they're way cheaper than Vanquish. Shocks leaks like crazy. Replace the rear lower links asap.
Very impressed that you’re doing all of this one handed, recording on the right hand I assume. Are you using an action camera? Do you just hold it or mounted to your controller.
Well sometimes I drive one handed and sometimes I use a mount that I made for my phone to attach to the transmitters. It’s sort of universal but don’t always fit the smaller transmitters etc. but I normally shoot everything with my phone lol
Foams will get flat spots if you leave the truck sitting on the tires. You need to leave it on a rack or a block. Servo is trash. Trim the bottom of the body all around so it fits inside the sliders. You will love this truck. The VRD is awesome but the carbon kit is definitely the route to take instead of the stance.
So help me understand….. why pay almost 500. For a RTR and then spend even more money upgrading certain items like servo, motor etc. when there are cheaper options that work comparably ? Or am I missing something ? Thanks for the great videos. God bless.
I prefer the rtr because I can upgrade a bit at a time. I don’t really have hours to sit down and build a kit most of the time. Mostly because I do a lot of 1/24 builds and reviews etc lol. Plus usually even the kit isn’t exactly what I want so buying a kit with an “upgraded” chassis that’s not really what I want is about the same. The best thing to do it buy a kit imo but a lot of newer to the hobby people definitely prefer the rtr because they can slowly learn the building process. I know several people who have said that here local. I just like reviewing the rtrs to see what is out there and how much things have improved over the years.
@@2fmrc I like the RTR’s because I can go play and upgrade as I desire or need. It’s not the most economical decision I’m sure , but it works for me. Also I am getting back into it and everything has changed so I am learning all over again. Thanks again for the great content. God bless.
Where are you in ky? Im in ohio so id like to check that place out! Also, i love the aluminum sliders on mine, i bent mine up and boatsided it. Also, flip your rear bumper and trim the body just below the taillights. Gets some extra clearance and still looks good
Every shortcoming you express is solved with the Carbon kit version.. and it’s cheaper! 🤔😉 No garbage electronics to toss, bigger diameter lower links, your choice on tires/wheels…
Yeah I just wanted to compare rtrs. No time to build a kit I probably won’t keep all that long honestly lol. I’m sure it’s a great kit but I kinda wanted to see what they offered in their rtr. Basically what we get with most rtrs unfortunately.
I don’t understand why companies think wimpy ass links are a good place to cut costs. I mean, it can’t cost 5 bucks to put decent links on at the factory. I’d pay another $5 to not have toothpicks holding my axles in place.
As soon as I saw those toothpick links I knew Ole 2 FM was gonna bend one lol. After building a Phoenix kit, I have come to the conclusion that Vanquish is over priced and over hyped. They make decent stuff but it is not worth the extra money they charge for the name. Unless I get an amazing deal I will never buy another Vanquish truck, just parts to keep my Phoenix running. Given some of the latest releases and their price point there are just better trucks that are cheaper available.
That’s always been my thoughts on them to be honest and the main reason I’ve never owned one until now. I do think it’ll be a nice truck with some work though!
I’m honestly just kinda over the outrunners lol. I’ve been running them for years and just never 100% happy with the combos. The fusion is just so much smoother and easier to control. What system do you run?
First one here! This thing is a beast, sounds like an underwater video of someone yelling in slow motion.
Yesssss! Thank you!
Thanks for no music during the running shots!!! Nice to hear just the ambient sounds. Much more enjoyable and relaxing then some blaring music!!!!
Yeah I try to never really do music unless the audio is just shot lol. I think it’s pretty annoying myself
Corrupt Carbon Works makes a chassis that is a direct replacement but will provide more tuning options. Austin does an amazing job with his products.
