Actually better use horus engine You can tribute easy with horus ss and or add some soul magician/white forest for staple to send spell/trap obelisk to gy And we still get backup with xyz *8 and horus it self
also, yeah, as someone below said, i've seen a video of obelisk using horus engine and a crystal beast...? for some kind of field spell shenanigan? while i didn't see obelisk attacks in that video, it seems to more consistently uses it's effect and support cards, well, at least all 4 match that video shows, it didn't show a losing scenario like yours -w-")>
