    I am the case where I have gained a Diploma from my country (VET) and I really don't know what to do! I am desperate! Now I am studying cert 3 in health at Tafe! I hope my dream to work as a radiographer comes true, and let's hope the degree that was awarded to me in 2018 will not "expired". Thank you for this video Sally! (If anyone knows something about my case please help, thanks)

    Hi, Sally! I am about to finish my bachelor's degree in radiography in the Philippines and planning to have a postgraduate education in Sonography in Australia. Would I able to get a sonographer/radiographer license once I finish my master's degree in Sonography in Australia?

    • @SallyOverShare
      @SallyOverShare  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. You need to finish your master's degree AND *complete a certain number of clinical hours practicing your ultrasound skill*. As far as I'm aware of, most Aus universities provide the academic component of sonography, and it is the student's responsibility to *find somewhere to complete the clinical hours*. Please watch my other video on why it is hard to become a sonographer.
      All the best!

      Yes, some people even transition to Radiography after 1 year of science. Or you can work your way to a master degree of Radiography. However, the first option is probably better because you should get more clinical experience in that case

    I got my diagnostic radiography degree from Usyd but I had to move back to Thailand.
    I plan to go back to Australia once I'm done with my contract here so I'm researching what I need to do.
    Since my degree is an Australian one, I think I don't have to sit the MRPBA exam, I'm still registered with AHPRA too (but it's a non-practising regis), so I probably don't have to worry much about that.
    The real question is; do I still need ASMIRT assessment if I want to go back to Aus and work as a radiographer there?

    • @SallyOverShare
      @SallyOverShare  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you need the ASMIRT assessment for job interview, but you will most likely need it to apply for a working visa. It is an expensive one-off expense.

    Hi Sally. Thank you for putting out there a very informative video. I have been looking for this kind of information since its a very uncommon topic about planning to work in Australia as a radiographer.
    I was just wondering how rough is the time frame for ASMIRT assessment?
    I'm a non-australian resident btw. I'm a Radiographer from the Philippines for more than 3 years now, doing the ASMIRT way and I have meet the proficient level on my English exam.
    Thanks 😊

      @SallyOverShare  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm glad you found my video helpful, but tbh you have prepared well for the move!
      Since I studied in Australia, I don't think there is much ASMIRT need to check in order to approve my skill assessment, so I received it in less than 2 months after I passed my university requirement. I would say give it at least 3 months just in case.
      All the very best!

    Hi miss sally im jassean btw..im a registered radiographer from the philippines..im just wondering if you need to apply APHRA first or ASMIRT..coz i thought if you are registered with APHRA you could practice being a radiographer in AUSTRALIA.i just recently pass my English exam..im already a non australian permanent resident.so do i still need to get a working visa?? And lastly if i have a 3 and a half yrs worth of experience do i still need to take the exam?? Thank you so much for this video hopefully you reply to my message..

      1. I could be wrong, but I think you need to apply for ASMIRT first.
      2. So are you a PR or not? if you are NOT a PR, you need a working visa
      3.You still need to take the exam regardless of your experience
