    I just had this same procedure on my cheek today. It was performed by a plastic surgeon in Tn for 75$$$ He did the exact same thing as the doctor in this video. I had the cyst for over a year and felt like people were looking at it instead of my eyes during conversations. I feel like a million bucks!!! By far the best 75 dollars i spent in my life. Im so relieved. Don't wait! its nearly painless and not that expensive. Thanks for sharing the video. Good luck to you all

      How do they diagnose it as a cyst from a lipoma? Do cysts hurt? Do they do ultrasound to diagnose cysts?

    Wow, that was so professional. He made it seem like his entire medical career was built around perfectly removing facial cysts. After watching so many amateurs do this (because 3am and youtube are a weird mix) it was such a nice change of pace. Also, you took that initial stabbing like a champion. Well done sir, I tip my beard to you.

    My 21-year-old son is having this same surgery today for a similarly sized cyst in the same spot. Coincidentally, from what I can see of you in the video, he looks very much like you, but his voice is entirely different. ;-) Thank you for posting this. It gave me peace of mind watching. A plastic surgeon will be performing his procedure.

    Your father is an amazing Dr. knew exactly how to get the sac out, one two three. He didn't tear it, lots of Dr's do or don't take the entire sac out. You were very funny with the blood tear comment, and hamster heart remark. I enjoyed watching, it seemed like I was watching a comedy show on T.V., maybe you should look into being a Comedian lol

      how long does it take ? & do they give u anything for pain afterwards ?

    • @SwiftyTheNinja
      @SwiftyTheNinja 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +shelly clark Doesn't take long, as about as long as this video, they freeze the area and then perform the procedure. You shouldn't need anything for pain and if you think you might advil or tylenol will be enough. The freezing may hurt depending on the area. I had boil of some sort on my inner thigh that was rubbing for 2 days and it became so inflamed and sore that the freezing needle they stuck in it hurt the most. After that the incision didn't hurt at all took awhile to heal but all is well.

    I'm glad that this video came up when I was trying to figure out what the hell is on my face. I noticed it a few days ago and thought it was just a pimple that hasn't surfaced yet, but this video and other sources have me thinking it could be a cyst. If it is indeed not a pimple and doesn't surface, how soon should I go to a doctor about it? am I over reacting too soon? Also I am worried about the removal of it if it is a cyst, because it is a lot closer to my eye than yours (about half an inch away) and I don't feel safe with those sharp objects next to my eye.
    If you can answer any of my questions in the slightest, that would be much appreciated. thanks.

    • @Twilakam
      @Twilakam 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, if it bothers your... either asthetically or causes you pain, i would say see your MD.

    • @jacobsmith6203
      @jacobsmith6203  10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      mine didn't cause pain, and my closest friends didn't know it was their for all 7 years. it hid in the "chubby" part of my cheek and I had to prove to dad/MD that it existed. He then performed what you watched.
      I was given local novacaine beforehand, and the procedure he did, with the equipment he used, he sort of pioneered the extraction method you see in the video. It starts with incising along the smile wrinkles/crows feet, so as to hide the incision scar or slight "pock", then a SMALL incision, followed by partial drainage, then a delicate effort to extract the sac wholly, and providing a good chance to cut the cyst "sac" at the tether while there is enough of it to proplerly grip and fully extract. This helps to reduce scarring, trauma, and chance of recurrence.
      I hope this answer helps.

  • @carmenrubinchannel

    I have one on my cheek. Dermatologist and plastic surgeon said it would take a 3 inch hole to get it out since they have to cut around the cyst. Not even close to the size of yours, so I'm not sure why so much of an incision. 50/50 chance of keloiding. Don't know what to do, but your video gave hope since your cut was small. I just want this out. Way too many strangers offering tips on how I should get rid of the "zit".

    • @aw-Keypad
      @aw-Keypad 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would only need that big of hole if the person doing it (dermatologist or surgeon) does not pop it first, as in this video. Make mention of that for facial removal. Anywhere else, go without popping and have it an abtopsy done on it, to find cause.

    • @jacobsmith6203
      @jacobsmith6203  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't wait so much as I procrastinated. Also, there is kind of a minimum size for minimal scarring, small incision & effective removal, as it's especially difficult to locate a small cyst in fatty tissue, such as a right under the cheek bone.

    I know this may not be the best place to post this, but I have several cysts that appear on my jaw-line. I've been able to pop several of them (and it looks much like what happens to yours in the video, almost a mixture of blood and white stuff). If I simply pop them, but they are not removed, will they come back?

      Hey same here, it's kinda odd! I have 4, cysts they're small , barely noticeable. They're symmetrical , one on each side of the jawline (same position just the other side) and the other two, are next to each other on my throat, again symmetrically positioned. How'd you pop them ?! I can't seem to pop mine, only water comes out and I get all bruised up!

      At home is not advised, but doable. Use a sterilized needle, sewing needles are very, very thin. They sale surgical needles and scalpel, so you can do it your-self, but again not advised if you have insurance and or a family surgeon.

      it's reasonable to assume that a zit/cyst that has been growing for multiple years would be encapsulated by the body if it never breached the pore like a pimple.
      Even when a BB lodges under the skin, like if you get shot by a little red ryder BB gun like "a christmas story", the body will encapsulate it with a sac because it is a foreign object/substance and it seeks to isolate it.

    Jacob - I also appreciate the "hamster heart", ha! You should watch "cyst being ruptured and removed from my face" by Rachael Morris - it's WAY worse than yours & the sac is enormous. Bleh! BTW, why did you wait so long to get it removed?

    • @jacobsmith6203
      @jacobsmith6203  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't wait so much as I procrastinated. Also, there is kind of a minimum size for minimal scarring, small incision & effective removal, as it's especially difficult to locate a small cyst in fatty tissue, such as a right under the cheek bone.

    Was he really pushing on the cyst to evacuate, with forceps in his hands THAT close to the patients eye? Tools and other implements should!d be put down in case the hand slips and the patient should be wearing a small pair of protective goggles.

      Because some of the greatest, most accomplished scientific minds are bleach blondes named Jessica who comment on youtube videos...
      Jessica Jarret, ladies and gentlemen: Definitely the authoritative voice in modern medicine and a paragon of reasoned, non-impulsive thoughts that aren't ignorant, strip-mall medtech school graduate rants that are purely comprised of pseudo-authoritative educationconnection dot com graduate oral barf diarrhea.

      This doctor had a patient with no scarring, and he got the root and tether comletely abnd gently, as well as the sac. Rewatch the video. He basically invented that little instrument switchregimen about halfway through the video.
      No plain old MD does it better. None of em.
