I've been in the HVAC industry for a while by now, working in office support, and have gained some experience with multifamily projects. Binge-watching your content, I can't help but think how valuable this would have been when I was starting out. Now that I'm aiming for a project manager role, I'm learning so much from your videos. Can't believe this is free-thank you!
I'm an Architectural intern working at a firm. Despite this not being what I studied in school it's still VERY useful for me to become a better well-rounded architect in the future; this stuff helps me understand consultant drawings at my office. Thank you!!!!
Thank you for these videos!!! I am going through a career change right now and looking into becoming a project engineer. This gets me excited and has really helped me build my knowledge, makes it all less intimidating
Thank you for this. Essential information to understanding HVAC interactions with energy efficient technologies incorporated into the Built Environment.
Wow, this is great stuff! Your videos are awesome. I keep an eye out for new ones posted. They have helped me a lot for work. What upcoming videos are in the works? Thanks for the great videos!
Is there any videos you can make and/or recommend for trying to improve my bidding on insulation. I'm an insulation subcontractor that's new to the business, having a very hard time bidding.
If you could make a video on what types of subcontractors cover what scopes of work that’d be sick, or if you could do a video going over PEMBs at a high level that’d also be awesome. Either way, great videos!!!
Great suggestions! I will do one on the subs/scope. I'll think to see if I can combine the PEMB with another topic or if it could be a standalone. Thank you for joining along!
Any video editing software should allow you to layer picture/video, I actually use multiple (they all do the same thing). Big names are Adobe Premier Pro or Final Cut Pro.
There should typically be an enlarged detail on the drawings of the AHU showing different components / sensors / etc or could be also found in the shop drawings.
Need a video for a concrete demo guy like myself on how to find new openings and penetrations on mechanical and plumbing plans. When customers don’t want to give quantities and want me to read their plans.
The easiest way to do this is take the mechanical and plumbing drawings and highlight anytime ductwork or piping passes through a wall (youll see the light gray architectural walls on both drawings). This will give you quantities and sizes. Youll also have to look at floor to floor penetrations using the symbols i talk about in this video. There is no quick way to do this, you just have to go page by page. This doesn't work for electrical because conduit pathways aren't drawn on electrical drawings - hope this helps in the meantime 🫡
@@planandspec your videos have helped a ton. Kind of stuck on finding trenches also. I know that if it’s 1st floor or basement I’ll have a trench but how to I know if something is being hung or the pathway is a trench if it’s not called out?
Trenches won't be shown, you'll have to look at the civil drawings for the grading plan to see finish surfaces as well as elevations of piping. There would be some subtraction to see how far below any piping is + bedding for that piping.
Thank you very much for what you do. This is very interesting, but don't speak so quickly. Work on your speech, speak more clearly and speak more slowly. If you want your video to be watched more.
I've realized that I only have one speed, and thats 100 miles per hour. Just kidding, I've gotten this comment quite often - I usually cut dead air in between talking in my final edits to shorten video lengths, but at the expense of going a little faster : / I'll continue to reconsider 😅

Your videos are awesome. Thank you for your time and effort sir.
Absolutely - thank you for taking the time to drop a comment, I always appreciate reading them!
I own a HVAC company with my husband and looking for a way to help out more when it comes to bid. This helped a lot. Thanks!
So glad to hear, that is 👌

You're so welcome!
I click on your video regarding blueprints at 1:30AM and endup watching whole playlist for blueprints
Really great content
😁😁😁 I do this all the time when I find some good content 👌 Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment

Check out my estimating video, I'll be making follow up videos soon to that series

Every single video you post is very important to and I really appreciate you 🙏🏾😌
Thank you so much for the support! Appreciate you 😎
very informative sir
Thank you for watching!!
Nice shout out to The Engineering Mindset, they really do some great breakdowns on the systems.
Yes they do!
Awesome! Perfect. Just started a PM job. Need all the help!
😁😁 So glad you found this
Great video as always.
Thanks for coming back for another watch!
Keep up the great work. Do you mind sharing what app/software you use for combining pictures and videos?

Awesome video, helped me out a lot. For real, thanks.
Great to hear!
Can you do a video on understanding where the devices are placed on the ahu from reading the print?

great job
Thank you!

Goodluckgameface77 say thank u
Can you make a video on how to read rebar shop drawings?
Oh yes... Everyone is asking, I'm compiling documents for it - been looking for a while for reference material
Thank you
Of course!
I'm a little baffled by the eye shield, but who cares. This is an excellent review. Very well done.
Safety First! 😎🤣
Where are those blueprints available
Hello Sir, I need a blueprint drawing of a ship shipyad Can you send me the link to it? Please do so.
Not sure what you're asking for here 🫠
i have a mechsnical insulation company.. we do plumbine insulation hvav and mechsnical insulstion..can this apply to that?
If you mean in terms of estimating, certainly
is reading mechania drawings similar to reading plumbing drawings?
Reading all construction drawings is fairly similar - they way you read them is pretty much the same, just the content is different.

Just change your playback speed to .75. Problem solved.
