I'm 55. My mother used to do me and my sisters' hair like this to go to primary school. Crochet needles were available but mostly used to crochet woolen garments by white ladies. The fake hair has come in leaps and bounds since then, but there was hair available which my dad used to tease us was actual ponys' tails (!). It was actyally rubber made to look like what later became "Amigo" hair, and the packs were long as a grown man. And very cheap.
So tbh these and many other things I see with young people are not new, but revived better than they were.
We've always been so creative with our hair possibilities. We just let Caucasian aesthetic rule us for a brief minute.
It's so lovely to see young ladies embracing all of what they are and understanding that it isn't and never was "either /or". ❤

This is a cool method. But, I wouldn't use the rubber bands on the hair at all. The rubber ban by itself adds stress on the hair by itself and when you adds in the crochet to it you're adding more stress to the hair which can lead to hair breakage. You can do this same method without using the rubber bands at all. Start a Plat (with gel on it) and then crochet a breed/ hair(It's less stress on the hair)and do exactly what you are doing! Most people don't know how to breed hair but they do know how to simply Plat hair! It looks nice!

@@Lunaris3-in-1 whenever you have braids, keep them moisturized; dry hair locs! Also during take down, be mindful of the shed hair and lint which causes the knot. Use conditioner, aloe or glycerin to finger loosen the knot and shampoo to loosen the dirt. It takes time, but it's worth it and you only lose what you shed, not the entire braid.

IDK why my brain flip which piece to start with but it does. As soon as I can clearly see someone do that then I can get it down. I'm just going to have to count and label my way through it. Ppl start the hair different ways. Like my mom just bends the hair then start near the beginning of the hair. Instead of looping the hair in the middle and separating it into two or three pieces before applying it to the real hair. IDK, I'll figure it out soon hopefully. I subscribed to your channel. Really good video!!!🥰 The editing was so on point! Beautiful styling and installation. The details were EVERYTHING! I love the idea of securing the hair underneath with a net. I think I would personally consider sewing it down. Especially, after removing the thick outer band so it’s not as detectable when the hair is shifted. Overall, this video was a great watch. Thrilled TH-cam recommended it. Keep up the upward momentum and growth, from one climbing business to another. Blessings

You would personally sew it down to what?... The hair is not braided. 🤦🏽‍♀️ That's the purpose of this video "Braidless Crochet". Your Host is gracious to pacify your comment politely. I personally want to know what are you going to sew down on Braidless Hair??? 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️... I'll wait 🧐 Put us ALL up on Game on your technique on this women's TH-cam page or 🤫 & learn some things about some thangs, Shugga 😁
