Great job Curtis that cap was a pain but as always you goter done thanks for the video
Thanks. I have been studying to enter HVAC at 46 years old and your videos make me so much more comfortable knowing what I'm getting myself into.
Great to hear!
I'm at 48 😂
It's a great trade to get into . I have 2 pieces of advice for you. Don't hesitate to call another tech if you feel like you're getting in over your head.
Back in my days cell phones were non existent.
Now they are a must. There's many apps out there that are good for troubleshooting and charging. Second take care of your body we all thought at one time or other we were superman.
Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!
Good luck to you!
@@LeoLoder I'm coming from a career in manufacturing machinery operation. The low voltage circuit troubleshooting was my specialty when other people had problems, I was the guy. Asking for help and saying the dreaded term, "I don't know, I gotta ask, so and so for help." Was a hard lesson to learn. I had a rule for myself if I couldn't get it in 15 mins, I had to call help. I'll do the same with this new work. 👍
A trailer that is lived in and actually clean? Nice.
(although the mop and bucket probably means they were cleaning, but that's courtesy)
My grandmother lives in a trailer out in the middle of nowhere and she keeps it clean. Go to any trailer park around though and you will get goosebumps lol I hope to never live in one though because they are money pit pieces of junk.
Hello Curtis! I I used to use metal strips I switched to plumbers strapping( the metal band stuff with the holes)
Curtis is the Man! Best hvac on TH-cam to watch. Calm demeanor while getting the job done
Ted Cook Anti-diy is pretty awesome too. John Isreal, Steve Lavi. Those are the top tier in my opinion.
Agree with the both of you. They have done it like 1000's of times. Its 2nd nature to them like breathing
@@grantdavis3458 Steve kind of comes off as disrespectful sometimes to customers. But maybe that's his eat coast bluntness. I'm a Midwesterner lol
Plumbers strapping make this job so much easier
Pre-drilling always helps! 😅
Good work as always!
Can't tell super tech's that
Enjoy as always.
Thanks again!
Just a suggestion....I would get an 1/8" drill bit and do a pilot hole to start those screws and I would get some gas tank strap for the contactors
Another customer happy curtis
Good job! Stay hydrated in this hot weather
Well done Curtis 👍 Au
Just leave the caps in their boxes lol
Instead of giant self drilling sky scraper screws, or press punches to make a divot for a hole, or a bag of zip ties - you need to go to Home Depot and get you a plastic box of 1/2", 3/4" or 1" self drilling washer head Tec Screws !!!! Better than sliced bread !!!! Cheap too !!!! No more struggling to put on a strap or hangar !!!!! Pro's use these !!!!! Trust me !!!!! 👍👍👍
What?!! No command strips?
Another customer happy nice job
Hi Curtis, hate that 5/16 with out head, Duro Dyne get it with perfect head.great video,I do sheet metal work like u did it in the past
Think you should have went and got the right capacitor.
IDK if it would work, but what about a small hole punch or one of those leather punches with the different size holes to punch a hole in those thin capacitor straps. Dunno if they make a short hex shank 1/8 bit that would fit in the milwaukee itself. Those zip screws are aggravating. I know more crap to lug around is not welcome. Just an idea.
Curtis you need to get a DeWalt 90° impact adapter. Perfect for putting screws in these boxes. Lol
Another enjoyable success to watch; thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great job,Curtis!
Thanks for making this video. 😊
Damn Curtis! Get a roll of plumbers strap boy!
Or a spring loaded center punch to put a dimple in the strap.
Or just a bag of long zip ties
Pre- Drill those. I cringe every time watching you with those straps. 😂
Love your videos!!!!
Thank you!!
Great video . Thanks
Nice work Curtis
Thanks 👍
That Capacitor Strap gave you a Fit. 👍🙏
Yep
Another job well done!!!
Thanks again!
those trailers are rufff .. i don’t envy you at all.. we have a strict no trailer policy here but things are a little different here in AZ .
why the no trailer policy?
Us Rednecks in Tennessee sip our Wine (with Pinkie extended) and call them *_Mobile Homes_* 😅
I wouldn't be going in the crawlspaces in an area that scorpions live in.
Job well done!
Fun video, thanks.
Not a bad machine to work on.
Great Video! 😊
another great video i enjoy watching you trouble shot a/c problems keep up the great work
👍👍👍
That mobile home was one of the cleanest homes you've been to. Didn't hear any chirping smoke detectors, either!
Stay cool and hydrated! Not sure how you are gonna fare down there, but we're heading into the 90s in CT later this week, and they're predicting high humidity to boot. 🤷♂ Breathing isn't _that_ important, right?
Get yourself a better short screws and everything will work out
Less speed more pressure.
Beware of going into homes with no one there. They can falsely accuse you of taking money and/or breaking items for their personal gain.
What he should do is take a Pic of the writen sign on the door to go in.
I worked in hotel maintenance for 32 years, went into many rooms with nobody home, and was only accused of stealing once. A guy accused me of stealing his "Puff Daddy" jacket. I told security, "Hey, I'm a southern raised white dude". Do I look like someone who would steal a Rapper jacket? That was that.
That's why he wears a camera.
Then they can bitch that you didn't repair their system...😮
Hot as hell out there. You shinning bro lol 🤣
Nice job . Have you ever come across a condenser fan that’s not pulling the air strong enough even thou the amps read correctly and not making any noise ?
😀
Hi bro
I was told u can go up in capacitor size but not down in size.
So my question is , why use the I think (3) mcf run capacitor?, on the side
instead of using a bigger capacitor like a 40/5 or 40/7 ? Or something?
Or would that not work as well ?
Thanks in advance ..
That would work no problem.
Sory curtis laft when screw whent crazy just had to do same thing safternoon misery loves company not sure how hot there it's 90 here to paraphrase u its hot and every one has my number yeppy cya
Normal summer temps in inland CA are around 100+ with 10-15% humidity. Because of low humidity A/C units need to be sized larger, like 4 or 5 ton instead of 3 ton. Vegas and Phoenix are the same way, It has to do with the unit's ratings for latent heat and sensible heat.
Wasn't really looking for a weather report been doing hvac for 29 years understand load and efect was just sharing common misery know the more South u go the hotter it gets just a joke was all Curtis don't forget ur hat and keep hydrated and hang in there
Hey anyone run across one of those trane ox heatpump s the timer bad on the defrost board?
Did you say that line foesnt get cold cause it is a piston style?
In Dubai, super hot and humid, the fins on the condenser coil would corrode away and be gone in 2 or 3 years. Units still worked but with greatly reduced cooling. Any ideas?
Remove the sand from the area
@@warrenm374 Dubai is sand.
I like your ring. Do you sell it?
Why don't you show them how dirty they are
Seriously I don’t understand why you can’t use the plumbers straps. Has wholes in it 😊😊😊
Should come with holes, not wholes
Curtis, get this a big known HVAC company serviced my unit. The butt wipes riveted the capacitors in. Why would they do something like that
Rivets. What in the world?
@@HVACGUY that's what I said
Professional Asssholes!
Maybe they want you to call them when it needs replacing?
Wow
very nice job!
Is it safe to clean condenser coil with a hose and power on? It just looks like electrical wiring is so close to water.
thanks
No different than if it were raining..
Just saw the metal cover with exposed contactor and capacitor close to water flow. 240 volts.
