In my opinion, these are the arguments why asset tokenization is necessary: 1. Original assets tend to have limited use cases and distribution, and therefore also limited opportunities for value creation. 2. The source books for these assets tend to run on legacy technology and/or in isolated environments. 3. Token issuers take the opportunity to expand the reach of original assets from their source ledgers to new target ledgers. The token issuer introduces a new layer of intermediary risk (custody, reserve management, etc.) for the end users of the tokenized assets. 4. Target ledgers tend to offer more digitized, efficient, interoperable and auditable environments for the original assets. 5. Tokenized assets unlock new use cases, distribution channels, and scale value creation opportunities for the original assets (and for token issuers and end users. We are just at the beginning of this movement that is a tsunami in the capital markets, and most people don't realize it..... Yet!
