Actually she loves for Arjun but she sacrifice her love and decided to married for five pandav brothers because developing to pandu family and Hasthinapur kingdom. She even born from fire, she faced many problems and she took those as challenge. She also went to forest for 13 years because her husbands the pandavas lived happily. I am proudly say I like her braveness, aggressiveness, love and caring. She was inspiration for many peoples in this present generation. I have not read that book, but I have heard that she showed a love angle between Draupadi and Karn, which is totally fake.
Please don't trust these novels, retellings etc. The writers create it from their own mind, without even reading the actual Mahabharat...
Rather read the original Mahabharat written by Ved Vyas, by yourself. You will know accurately about the pure and strong character of Goddess Draupadi...

I sometime feel like giving oscar to director and camera man and even the actors . They have nailed in every aspect be at choosing charachters, justifying with their dialogues, screen play ,title track, side tracks and even potrayal of incidence each and every actor did justice to the charachter ....shakuni ,panchali, pandavs ,kauravas ,kunti,bhismapitamah, shakuni, Krishna, amba,dronacharya,gandhari,dhritrashra,abhimanyu I wanna meet once all of them ... And I believe nobody can copy and if it's to be filmed none in Bollywood could surpass the way they did justice with the portrayal, same lies with ramayan of Sagar Ratna after that I feel this Mahabharata was very meticulously portrayed on screen
