2 days ago my brand new GTW 680BSJWS arrived. I did a lot of research, and watched your videos of how that brand of washer worked, I was impressed. Needless to say in the last year GE made changes to this model of washer. For instance, the recirculating pump which sprays water over the clothes while washing had been eliminated. Along with the fill for the rinse cycle on any wash cycle, it’s now a spray rinse, unless you choose deep rinse then it fills. Another thing the deep fill and rinse adjust accordingly to what you have in the washer during the sensing mode at the beginning of the cycle. It’s a far cry from the deep fill which your videos showed. I called GE customer service and asked about these changes, and yes, they were made according to the representative I talked to. All in all for having it 2 days, and washing 7 loads, I like it. I’m not use to such little water for washing, but if it works so be it. Kinda nervous about doing two sets of sheets and pillow slips on deep fill because of it sensing now how much water is needed for the extra deep fill.
Recommend a speed-queen or a front load. But I sincerely wish you switch to a front load for best results. It doesn't damage clothing. And it cleans effectively with jet sprays.
How can I leave the lid open like you did there?... I hate the bleach dispenser! The old washer, I used to pour the bleach directly in the tub while the water is filling.
I heard that GE appliances division was bought by Electrolux some years ago. Here in Brazil this helped Electrolux to top our previous best selling appliance mark Brastemp, Whirlpool's brazillian branch. I do really enjoy Electrolux washers, dunno which mark Electrolux works with in US but I'm sure they're pretty good.
@@FOG2006 That's incorrect. GE divested from the Appliances industry. They tried to sell it to Electrolux, but the FCC terminated it. Then in 2016, they were bought by Haier, a Chinese company. This marks the end of the Hydrowaves. BTW, Electrolux bought Frigidaire, so Electrolux makes Front Load washing machines, while top loaders are made by Frigidaire.
@@OckGypsy In Brazil, Electrolux sells both top and front load washers and dryers, but only the top load ones are manufactured in Brazil, alongside fridges and vaccuum cleaners.
Thank GOD we just got a kenmore 80's series after 2 Nightmares, and a good kenmore 80's dying washer. Kenmore (good): GG SUPER SQUEKY BUT GG GOOD! First nighmare, maytag, #MATAG_IS_747!!! Next, the Bosch nextt: #NUCLEAR_EXPLOSION_INBOUND!!!! (It was EVEN LODER THAN THE MAYTAG!!) XD
He is implying an insufficient wash. My opinion being there is not enough water to rotate the mop head in the wash cycle and it seems to only be sitting there getting shoved from side to side.
Same washer and dryer pair the washer has been nothing but a nightmare! It’s always unbalanced and shakes so much it walks across the room while I’m gone at work
A cool story about the mop head. One of the viewers wanted to see it in action with one of the other GE top loaders. The viewers name is Dennis Miracle, he was nice enough to send one to me. I call it the Dennis Miracle Mop head test. I try to keep the test in loop. We want to see how it handles an unbalanced load.
This is absolutely pathetic! I have nothing against GE or this machine but all of them from the $399 whirlpool to the $1000+ 2018 SQ. This floating suspension is absolutely horrible! And what about having a motor that doesn't sound like it's dieing during every load. The build quality of these machines domestic and forign has gotten horrible. My grandma has a 90s whirlpool that would I can gaurentee will outperform any modern top load washer in this mop head test! These new machines Honestly scare me a little like in this video the machine sound not have banged around that much or that hard.
But the machine did what it was designed to do. After the tub bumped the cabinet twice, it slowed down, tried to move the clothes around, then kept spinning. It's not the machine's fault there was only one item for it to move around. It there had been more items in the tub, it would have moved them around to balance the load, then were back to the original faster spin.

The spin of this washer is very insane 💚
Yeah very fast spin
810 rpm
Got same machine. Works great no issues. Besides the spin cycle being like a plane starting up ready to take off. But the clothes are pretty much dry.
They are noisy. I put a bunch of old blankets and comforters around mine (GUD27GSSMWW), when it's on

I have this exact washer and dryer pair. No complaints they both work really well.
13:43 was the amazing part it spins but shakes very violently also it can hold it

The new Speed Queens are crap now.
Amd by front load with spray jets, he obviously is referring to a South Korean front load washing machine like LG or Samsung.

Doing really well spinning with that mop head.

Just ordered this washer from Costco. $589 and you get a 2 year full warranty and 90 day return policy. Generally this washer gets very good reviews.
So sad what they have done to the laundry industry! Rest In Peace solid reliable well-built machines of the past!

How is he keeping the lid open during all cycles?
He detaches the lid lock and puts it on the latch
No soap? For the spin cycle, get a hand towel or something similar and put it opposite the mop to help with the balance.
I'm actually trying to make the machine suffer. It is a standard test I try to do to all of the machines.
How did he use the wash cycle with the lid open?
So the GE washer may take several minutes if the load is spinning at high speed
This is a wonderful washer. I love mine.

Can you do a tub clean
Do you think this washer washes better than the 685 model?
Quick question......are you selling these washers as "new" after you've used them? IJS
I sell them with the factory warranty still intact. Used would have no warranty at all.
can you do a load with 6-8 towels on deep fill .
I'm impressed for the spin cycle, it's so faster
NÓ meu amigo que Deus continue abençoando você sempre
This is better than the 1st 2 14:10
The blue strip on the mop head doesn’t seem to get rotated down.
What do you mean?

Did you take the shipping bolts out?
I noticed that adjusting the spin changes the total wash time, I wonder if it also will slow down the spin speed or just the time
wx4newengland It’s not a spin speed changer it’s a spin length changer
